The system behind icons for passengers/coins/etc has been rewritten for 7.2 to be less stressful for the device's memory (more stability, less crashes), and some of the usability features might have been inadverently hurt by that. We'll take a look.

If there was a quick fix for that, we'd already do that. A proper fix requires some time and lots of QA, but it's coming eventually.

We usually don't announce an exact day in the preview, because if an update doesn't release on that day for some reason, everyone here gets very nervous, and we don't want anyone to become nervous. :)
As of now, the update is scheduled to be released on Wednesday.
