5 planes are always in the air for that mission (including Wonderland).
I'm daily collecting as much knives.as I can from my neighbors, but.. I've got 5 Spanish eggs and that's about it!
Not even single Russian or English egg

My first year it was simple - I didnt! Some events take 2 goes to build up the resources. Some people are luckier. Dont worry about it.

Yes, frustrating, but dont expect to automatically be able to finish every event. The game doesnt work that that. Some events are easy and some are hard. Some people have more luck than others. I needed 1 item x 5 from each collection and i finished yesterday! Admitedly i wasnt trying very hard for the flight drops.
