Every so often, after at least a year has passed, I like to revisit a DVD box set, from my large collection, this time round it is the original TV series of Star Trek. Purchased a few years ago, it has proved to be money very well spent.

If there are any forum members who have purchased Star Trek: Enterprise (current price is £32.00 British pounds) - I would be very interested to find out what you think. The price of the four separate boxes, is very similar in price compared to the box set.

On the first day of the new month of October here are a few interesting cinema films to keep both eyes open for. These films cover a broad spectrum of film genres, which may be of interest to forum members:

Kusama – Infinity (12A) - This film traces the queen of polka dots Yayoi Kusama’s trajectory from a conservative upbringing in Japan to battling sexism and racism in 1960s NYC to her unstoppable rise to international fame.

Faces Places (12A) - The ever-generous, radical and playful Agnès Varda hits the road with her unlikely collaborator JR, casting their distinct visions on life in rural France.

The Little Stranger (12A) - Sarah Waters's ghostly gothic novel is brought to life in a new film.

Skate Kitchen (15) - Crystal Moselle's new film introduces the all-girl skate crew who rocked Sundance Film Festival this year.

The Wife (15) - Glenn Close delivers a spectacular performance as the dutiful wife of a world-renowned author, in this adaptation of Meg Wolitzer's bestselling novel.

A Star is Born (15) - A Star is Born stars four-time Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper and multiple award-winning, Oscar-nominated music superstar Lady Gaga, in her first leading role in a major motion picture.

I watch The Bodyguard and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Also been watching a few classic Rom Coms - The back up plan was the best out of the bunch I watched.

Many thanks for your post and for your thouights.

I have never really been too keen on modern day romantic comedies, I have always preferred the romantic comedies of the 1950's and 1960's films, far more stylish and sophisticated, films which have lasted across the years.
