Did you talk to the Fuel Ring admins about this? One of the key things in a ring is communication with those on your ring, so it sounds like maybe there was some kind of miscommunication here

So - if I go create a new Apple ID, change that on my iPad, then restart the game will that cause any issues with trying to find it or other playability issues? That's a pretty simple change but I worry about losing something in the process like unopened gifts, neighbors, etc.

I started in 2016 a couple months before I found the forum. I stopped when the 100 limit was enforced but never deleted the game. After 2 years away I started back up a few months ago but with a much smaller set of neighbors (primarily ones I was neighbors with before)
