My gifts went out a moment ago, I sent Old Lantern to most of neighbors unless you specifically says in your signature or in your in-game name that you want something else. Both of my games have more than 5 Xmas event buildings if you want to try your luck.

I did my first four neighbors yesterday and hit only Christmas Gift Shops and Santa Houses and I got no gift drops or anything else, nothing. I switched to Elves and was pretty successful. Oh and I did a like three Skating Rinks and got 1 gift.

I'm curious as to others' experiences.

You can check, if you collected all 5 buildings you can hit the gift shop. It will show if and what wil drop
