Windows - Weekly Trading Thread - October 10, 2016

I have internet access, so I am trying to wake up my games again. I succeeded in sending 20 chainsaws from my main account. I received two as gifts, didn't remember who sent them before I got onto the forum and saw what a mess this update is turning out to be.

thanks for all the received gifts, was able to send my 20 out for today and started a list for tomorrow.

@KenDuckySmith : received the chainsaw, so all went well send you one and hope you'll get it.

Drop rate from the planes was nothing and also the chainsaws I used for the burned trees brought me nothing.
Don't think I'll finish the event at this rate of poor droppings. Only have 2 items for all the collections we need...

I swear this game is trying to make me go bonkers!!!
35 chainsaws produced 2 filters and no pieces of the Gates of Hell collection.
5 jackhammers only got me 1 rock.
And no cold war pieces no matter which plane I send out!

I'm hoping when the side quest says something about flying for cold war collection the drops will improve. I completed one rock collection after that side quest came up.

I'm hoping when the side quest says something about flying for cold war collection the drops will improve. I completed one rock collection after that side quest came up.

Was that visiting the Research Labs x 3? That was the first side challenge I had in this event.

I'm up to side challenge #17 - visit residential buildings and warn people of the danger.

I suppose if I were to sacrifice extending land area in town down one side, I can get through this. But already 17 side challenges and it hasn't stopped. This is about as redundant/stupid even as the 999 challenge.
Gi is starting to be like television networks. Can't come up with something that will keep the audience truly entertained, without it costing money.
People are spending less money on cable TV and going to HULU or Netflix since the networks are airing newer versions of older shows.

Besides, why am I going to spend money on a game that's full of serious problems, when I worry about it crashing everyday despite backups? Some people have waited months to get games restored, and half of them aren't exactly as it used to be.

If it weren't for the people here in forums, whom I consider friends, as we've been playing together 2+years for me; I'd probably delete the game and move onto something else.
Just because we haven't met in real life, in a sense this is another form of social media/social gatherings.

What if this "quest" is simply GI getting ready to destroy everyone's city and then switch off the server and end the Airport City game?
What with the slow response times when submitting a ticket, the game with so many more bugs than before and a "quest" that rarely drops anything needed, could it be......

I truly do not believe that this event can be finished without purchasing at least spyglass. I was fortunate to have several spyglass's and sky captains, plus a few regular dice. When those are used up, I'm going bare *ss naked - no bonuses. I refuse to spend money to complete something that should be achievable without bonuses.
If it works out - great! Meanwhile, I have a few new buildings with good coin production!

(I got rid of cable TV about 10 years ago. And I won't even spend money on Hulu or Netflix)

And don't talk about the 999 challenge! I still have to visit over 400 mega malls.

That may be the only way some of us can quit the game. It's been a fun run - I probably wouldn't be too awfully upset if this is the Grand Finale! We would just have to find another game, and get everyone on the forum to play the new game so we can keep our friends.

All things considering, it wouldn't be the first time I've seen online games go out with a bang, (no pun intended).
I just visited and gifted from night flyer1.
Using only random selection and a Friend In Need bonus, that comes to 120 random choices made looking for chainsaws.
What I got from all that clicking was 31 chainsaws, or slightly more than 1/4. In reality; that should be somewhere more around 1/3-1/2 or 40-60 chainsaws.
Even clicking on my own Vulcanology buildings, I may get 2-3 jackhammers per visit.
Not very good odds either way; in my opinion.

What with the ashes already covering bare ground/grassy areas in night flyer2 city, if it starts coating the buildings as well, I expect it to resemble Pompeii in the end.
Funny though, the roads are acquiring cracks, yet the bare tarmac in the airport as well as the runways aren't showing signs of something brewing beneath the surface.
I hear that on the FB version, people are flying through darkened skies/ash clouds

I finally have access to 7 of the 8 airports I have been maintaining. 6/8 were able to send gifts out tonight...so I managed to get about 110 chainsaws sent out. Gifting never reset on one airport from before it locked up. Hopefully that will clear by tomorrow night.

With the rate of drops from the burnt trees, I figure I might get the first Gates of Hell collection in about 2 months...

I just discovered there is ash UNDER the city - if you put your game in grid mode, you can see where the ashes are.

WOW - thats worrying - if anybody has ash under a planetarium, please rescue it!!!

So recovering well today - STILL EVERY CLOUD as they say - I have just started a red launch WTH A QL - whoop whoop - and invite as many neighbours as possible to join me. I have hardly anything to add points wise, but intend to set off launches all day whilst I can't do a lot else - come join me??? - Think I better visit planetariums not burnt trees today! Will post a launch thread.
