Thanks for your excavation recommendations. I do notice the 20k coin hit for maps every week, but it does keep my turboprop busy, and it is only one day's income.

I am perhaps four days from starting tower level 5 and only need transmitters to complete it. For which I can spam non-forum neighbors for as well as asking for them here.

Summarizing the info provided I would say:
It is not worth spending tokens for S planes, because the repair costs are paid in greenies like the normal big planes and it is better to stockpile tokens for 6 Grand Hotels, Casino mint and Bank. To get tokens we need to do space missions (silver only) and/or score high weekly rankings in destinations (gold and silver). Do I miss something?
Of course, it is always a matter of preference of how someone plays this game.

ugh. Not worth pursuing as far as I can tell. I'm collecting greenies fast enough to buy land faster than I can upgrade the townhall to populate the land. Still, if I I need to dump some of those silver/gold thingies, I know what to play with.

You need 6×Planetarium. To get 1 Planetarium you have on average to buy 10 Super Mystery Building 2s which cost 65 greens at Duke's discount. That's 6×10×65 = 3900 greens. You also need Super Mystery building 1 to get Training Centers and Astronaut Academies, that's another 3900 greens.
There pretty much is no other use for gold tokens. S planes cost greens to repair, so don't even buy them until you already have Mint/Casino to keep them in the air.
Silver tokens are useful for Grand Hotels (cheaper than upgrading Town Hall at one point), but when you start doing space launches you'll have more silver tokens than you could spend.

There are more uses for greens than just land - you need them to open slots in Repair Base, Reserve Hangar, and facilities producing essential flight items: Catering, Blankets and Lollipops.

Trust me: have 100/1000 tokens ready when the Casino comes out, or you'll spend a year regretting bad decision.

For the first time I have enough gold/silver tokens to purchase this Mystery Super Bonus - does the pricing mean 10 gold AND 500 silver or does it mean EITHER (big difference) Either way it represents a lot of hard won tokens an, since quantum leap doesn't appear to be there, what the other Super Bonuses do that make them worth this much money?
Also does anyone know what happens when you buy one - is it deployed immediately like golden dice are or is it added to your warehouse to use whenever you want. (though I suppose I could force this by deploying a low value one just before ordering the special

I don't think you can force anything because you can have multiple bonuses running at same time.

thanks - still debating if its worth it - I have no other use for gold coins but it will set back building my next grand hotel - and still have no idea of what they are likely to be worth

Yes I read the forums and a few people think they post this shortly before bank/casino offer to tempt you into using up tokens so you have to purchase them for the building offer - I think I will pass this one!!

Wikia describes only 3 bonuses, but there are at least 5 on the picture:
- Jar of Diogenes (barrel logo): multiplies experience - 7 days.
- Friends in Need (avatar logo): turns 5 taps when visiting into 10 taps - 7 days.
- Jet Pack (vest logo): accelerates all flights - 1 day.
- Spirit of Adventure (Indiana Jones hat logo): all maps last 3 times longer OR flights with maps are 3 times shorter - unknown.
- Horn of Plenty (Cornucopia logo): all production building are ready to collect - 1 time

So:
- one is completely useless
- second can be very good (if you have enough neighbors with 10 buildings tap worthy and maxed out visiting)
- third is nice but lasts very short
- fourth is ok, if you're ready for 18-hour shift. Still, buying more maps seems cheaper.
- fifth is useful only if you have completely maxed out all production buildings which includes excavation reward buildings I guess. Only few people here could utilize it's full potential. And everything it does is pretty much doing 24h in a click - one time.

So yeah, it doesn't seem to be worth the price.
