Strange Things Happening at Harcourt City !!

Yesterday I reached the 400,000 needed to upgrade my Mission Control Centre. After I had finished congratulating myself, I sat down looking forward to less hectic game playing for the six days it takes to construct. When I logged on this morning my screen was dominated by a great big ! and the ghostly outline of the level 3 MCC. So now I have to accumulate 200000 to build the Red Launcher. (Prepares to go back into hectic mode)

All Gifts have been sent and thanks for all those received. I now have enough Additional Radars and have changed my gamename to Harco-DutyFree.
Apologies to @Kris (Turion), @KenDuckySmith (!KB), @WAMike (Mike) and @Captain WH Rollins , I ran out of gifts and you are first on the list for tomorrow.

I now have 4 Post Offices if you need to visit. I actually got a Scooter this morning when collecting the coins. (I only build them because they are good little earners !)

When you say "screen dominated by" do you mean just that the MCC is ghosted and unusable, not that you can't do anything else. The following assumes that's what you mean.
This has no relationship to the red pad. The problem is that you don't have all the building items you need to complete it. As soon as you accept a gift of the antenna you lack, you're MCC will be in perfect condition. You can click on the ghost building to see what items the game thinks you still need. Hope that helps.
Since you are in hyper drive now saving for the launch pad. When you finally get it in place, that will also take 5 or 6 days to build (sorry to bring such bad news) I lost one of the events after working so hard to get it in place; only to learn that I couldn't launch until after the event ended!!!!

Can Airline Route Maps (4 needed) be gifted by neighbours or do I need to start flying to Tokyo to obtain them, my Control Tower L7 has just appeared in it's semi solid state. Some good news this cold, wet and windy London morning would be pleasing.

Yes they can be gifted; but they seem to be very scarce right now. Other members are looking for them as well. The higher level building items only remain on our list for a short time until we build the building that needs it. The item is then replaced by another building item. If you built and upgraded your reserve hanger, you have an idea of how it works. The higher level town hall, control towers, and terminals work the same way with gift items. Only one at a time to give.

Ah, OK. I had the impression you thought it didn't work because you don't have a launch pad. OK. Suggestion: If you aren't already collecting items needed to launch, you can collect more money by starting those collections for red launches. Click on neighbors red pads, MCC3, and the planetarium.

Ah OK - you guys helped me correct a lot of early mistakes I was making and I wasn't sure if there was a secret strategy involved with neighbors. I do have a small handful of about 10 non-forum ( as far as I know ) neighbors that seem to be pretty consistent with gift exchanges and visits. Then a bunch of others who just seem to sit there. Then I have the dozen or so in the "waiting" area...

That's what we're here for Scott. As far as the Add and Waiting tabs in your game, it will automatically generate people to add in both tabs for you. So, you can either accept them, or just delete them as they come up. I still get Add and Waiting people on my game, but I know they're being randomly generated, because I don't have my friend codes published. Forgot to mention it last night, but some people also cruise the forum, but don't join it, and add peoples friend codes.

OK - makes sense and I guess that's what I was getting at - if you go over 20 neighbors who are actively giving gifts you seemingly can't keep up.

LOL - I started keeping track on a sticky note, then a note pad, now a sheet of paper. Pretty soon I guess I'll start creating a spreadsheet!

Personally I have too many neighbours. I have 194 now, which was fine when many weren't gifting. I also used to remove them if they had been away for more than a month, but I understand we don't get that notification any more. Not many send gifts, but I still exceed my 20 allowance. It causes me a problem as those that do gift are good neighbours, sending what's in my name on a regular basis. They are just not on the forum. I also remember in the early days, before I found this forum, these neighbours really helped me build the lower levels, and have been with me since then! - that why I accepted every request in the earlier days. Some have amazing airports with loads of planetariums and the like, and it is fantastic to see how different games and strategies play out- whether cramming as many buildings in as possible, whether spent tons of real money, or whether just going for a city that just looks right! Now I only accept active forum members.

It is a question of personal taste - there is no right or wrong on this one, good luck.
