Only four and a bit days until the end of the event.
I have found the drop rate from planes reasonable enough to get my 3 carriage workshops but the drops from buildings has been zero for the last few days, so not much chance of finishing it.

I have 4 carriage workshops and have been trying to get just 1 single carriage body out of them for the last 2 days. I have 3 of 3 of everything else. May switch to bonuses and see if that helps. I WANT THAT BUILDING!!! Also noted that ring drops from planes seems to have stopped - maybe because I have all I need?

Another strategy question...

It looks like I should reach level 31 (Runway 5!) at about the same time I reach $80K to upgrade my terminal.

Should I upgrade the runway first? I assume its going to be pricey, and will only use it to land guest planes for some time before I save enough for whatever comes after Deltas...

Just my opinion: Concentrate on your delta's and powerful delta's - there are a lot of flights to be done there - and that's after you've done most of your jet flights.

I upgraded my terminal first to allow 520 passengers. Now I'm working on upgrading my control tower (200,000) so I can get a powerful delta, then sell off one of my jets, so I can have 3 deltas and a powerful delta. After those are flying, I'm going to work on upgrading the runway.

I'm sure there will be lots of people with other ideas that work for them - I just wanted to get the 200,000 coin thing out of the way first!

Not sure what is up with the event it wasn't nearly as difficult for me as many others. Had the little tragedies and what women want collections done in 3 or 4 days. The carriage was a bit more difficult taking another 3 or 4 to clear them out. I guess the main problem seemed to be the lack of drops from neighbors. Which really for players with no extra space or electricity to build multiples of 6 different buildings is kind of unfair especially when they can't get drops from neighbors who may have more buildings. In any case I hope the drop rate kicks in for everyone giving a better chance to complete.

Based on faq and tests I've done. You can initiate connection, get it accepted, delete, then re-initiate from the other side and accept again.
You get 2 chances. Advising to use all of them for no reason is simply wrong.

(Not to mention that your posts are condescending, because (as any copypasta) it shows that you haven't read what the other person wrote. Often telling them to do what they've already done, like telling Andreas to look around for neighbors when he already had found many and connected with them successfully, or telling me to fill my sig when I did or to introduce myself in wrong thread which I also did in appropriate one)

A person who insists on pointing out what they may perceive as someone else's failings seems to indicate said person has some underlying issues and is neither helpful nor constructive.

Do what you do Dave, you can't please that 0.5% even if you wanted to...
