A good friend of mine feels the same way about figs, not at all unusual. The figs need to be really fresh.

Sunday lunch will be Greek style - stuffed vegetables (large onions, red peppers and vine leaves) with minced veal, fresh green salad with dressing, homemade fresh baked bread and chilled white wine. This meal is really time consuming to prepare and cook, but well worth the end result. It is a meal much loved by all.

Wow - you both have great choices! - we have a lot on tomorrow, so not sure - I am now tempted to grab some fish and chips!

Friday night is take-away - for some it will be fish and chips, for others it will be scampi and chips and of course chilled beer.

Pub lunch for today - toasted roast beef sandwiche with melted cheese, a small side dish of pickled red cabbage and a glass of Ale to wash it all down - a very quiet day, waiting for my game to be returned.

Just got back from a 2 day course at work. Night out last night dined with pulled beef Denver fries with melted cheese and baked cheesecake for desert and a bottle of Malbec

This comes as no real surprise to me, because I have been cooking across many decades, I'm able to measure ingredients with my eyes, rather than using kitchen scales. It just comes with experience.

Late lunch on Sunday - smoked haddock and potato fish pie, thyme buttered cabbage and carrots, homehome fresh baked bread and crisp white wine - for desert baked cheesecake with vanilla and strawberries.
