I think there is always a risk someone will hijack your launch for the gold. Sometimes I start a launch, and am off line doing something else and wonder if anyone is trying to grab the gold. (Any game I have ever played there was never a guarantee to get first place) The best way to get a gold is to start the launch yourself, and then just stay on top of it.

I noticed if somebody hits every item at the same time the most they can get is 576 points. Then there's at least a one or two minute window (cant remember) until the large fuel tank or heavy explosive bolts reset.

If you see someone join your launch and then click off 576 points its a good chance this player is going for the gold. You will have at least a minute to make up the difference to secure your place as long as you are online and watching the game, which is not easy to do.

Can I ask a general question regarding etiquette on space launching?

I started a launch this evening and Phantom sp prop quickly added 745 points, so I was more than happy to
allow Phantom to have the gold position.
I know how long, frustrating and tedious it can be to keep adding up the points etc.

As I had started the launch, it is acceptable then that I should have the silver?
Another neighbour joined and pushed me into 3rd, even though I had sent a pm to say I would like silver?

Thanks also to Scoob1964 who joined in too.

I do like quick launches but wondered if I am just being fussy?

I enjoy the launches as no 2 are the same, just wanting that second AL

Neighbours add valuable points & I don't want to use the greenies! I guess there's always a risk.

Starting another primo NO fail launch... Been saving items during the spring event so I'm loaded and can cover the entire launch myself All are welcome to join and help get rid of some of these solid fuels that are just taking up space!

Just got back from being out and about this Saturday. I neglected my AC for a while there.

I want to thank Aero and my other neighbors who joined my successful launch. Some of them are not from this forum, some I am not sure if they are not actively posting, but if you are reading this, thank you so much!

Three successful launches in three days! With the 3rd my favourite Russian (dont think he's on the forum) and I did it in less then 5minutes. And with every freakin launch I take 2nd place. Dang!!! When will it be my turn? Lol!!

Yes, for 1st place you need some items...preferably PEBs
So far it is two person launch. Waiting for company....

Just joined your 1st launch, I don't have many points thats why I joined a neighbour rather than start one myself.

You also have a second launch, I can't access that, perhaps that is where you are adding?
