I think it’s for the lower level CT/Terminal. I kinda remember when I started my beta game, I needed “fancy looking” new item for one of them. And I think the mouse is one of them.
I’m not 100% sure though.

If it is lower level building item, it shouldn't be in a gift lift for those who don't need or finished that building. Gi need to think about their concept and play/test before they release

I think it's comparable to high level players having generators, air conditioners, computers, dispatcher consoles, etc to gift. Gives the ability to help lower level players.

That makes sense if it's more of general items like computers and air co9since they are used in a few buildings. But if it's for terminals or town halls only, it shouldn't be giftable once you are done with it. Just my thought.

Can’t be terminal or control tower. I have it to send in my list, my next terminal is lvl12 and next ct is lvl13. Not town house either, my next level doesn’t need any of those

Items for terminal, control tower and town hall for a certain level cease to be giftable as soon as you have your own building running...

I officially give up. Out of curiousity, I started a new game, and I'm at level 7 now. There has been nothing that requires the gyroscopic mouse, transceiver, or the other new items, yet I definitely remember using them in the beta game. If I come across anything, I'll post it here.
On the wiki, this item is not listed as required item for any of the lower-levels Terminals, Control Towers or Town Halls:

So unless the requirements changed in v7, we can rule these out.

Control Tower
The Control tower is the building needed to make the airport function properly and have contact from the ground with the planes coming in and going out from the airfield. The level of the control tower determines how many stands you can build.
So unless the requirements changed in v7, we can rule these out.

Yes, but I am 100% sure the Gyroscopic Mouse and Gaming Mouse are 2 different things. The Gyroscopic Mouse in question is a new gift item.
I doubt it’s to complete a collection. Since it’s also mentioned in the gifting page that the Gyroscopic Mouse is required to build a unique building.
We’re still trying to figure out what it’s for, I hope @crescent moon can figure it out since she started a new game. I kinda remember I used it when I started my beta game (either for CT/Terminal). (Edit: probably not CT/Terminal, but definitely something, or maybe I’m hallucinating, HAHA)

As there are now more intermediate levels in the control tower building, and since many of us hadn’t finish that level (because we were already past it) it can be a CT item.

Make sure Graphics Rendering mode is set to speed (directx).
