iOS Do purchased slots carry over if you upgrade the building?

for reserve hangers, fuel bases, resource bases,etc. if I purchase an additional slot will I keep the new slot if I upgrade the building? For example, if I buy a storage slot in a L1 reserve hanger (for 2 slots total) will I keep the bought slot when I upgrade to an L2 reserve hanger?
