Soul Net bonus definitely not working.
Banished all white phantoms first and then activated Soul Net,
but it summoned more White Phantoms, no Black Wraiths.

Agreed. Soul Net not working, even after banishing all white ghosts first as official FAQ says to do! Prior years event, Soul Net immediately caused Black Wraiths to appear. That's why I would wait until I had at least 6 aerosols before activating Soul Net!

It has to be a bug, since following official FAQ still does not yield Black Wraiths...

One trick is to open the game frequently and search for Black Wraiths. Then click, if you do not have Aerosol, at least on Android, you can watch video to get one. 5 Black Wraiths per day is quite doable. 17 days left - more than enough. First collections seems to be quite easy to complete. To complete the third collection, search for neighbors with lots of event buildings.
This event enables bunch of flight destinations. Good time to earn stars.

Just got 3 black wraiths in my back garden. Someone's said it somewhere - go and visit neighbours, come back, check, go visit neighbours etc. Do it 4 or 5 times and eventually one of the white goes mad and turns black. Just done it 3 times. Tedious but it appears to work.

I don't think Soul Net thing is a bug, it's part of the "game balancing" GI started some time ago - not that I like it...
The description of the Soul Nets was suspicious already two years ago. It says:

• Use the Crystal Ball bonus to see and land Ghost Planes at your airport;

• Ghost Planes will bring items for Warlock’s Collection. Complete it, and you will receive a Soul Net bonus;

• Use the Soul Net bonus to increase the chance of Black Wraiths appearing in your city;

While for Crystal Ball it is definitive "use... to see...", for Soul Net it says "increase the chance". Just the chance from "always" in the past (my own memories are from two years ago, I missed last year event) changed to worse, perhaps seldom

Again, I don't like the change but at least try to understand and explain it.

Exactly, the bonus is completely unnecessary.
If you have 60 aerosols, you could probably complete that part of the event within an hour.

Have you had many drops from them?

It’s not working for me....I had 1 in the very beginning and now I had another 1 today....I have gone in and out about 49 times and zilch.

I think it's about a dozen in all. You have to collect phantom plasma and put it in a jar. Ive got to 16 mad men but run out of aerosols so stopped looking!

Oh sorry. I just do return visits to the same neighbour in, out back to mine. Back to neighbour, back to mine. Check each time for your 5white ghosts, as sometimes they are hiding . If Not turnoff game for 30mins. Maybe your luck will change. I'm at 16 and run out of aerosols!
