Anyone experienced the same "error" as I have? In the story / side missions of this Cinemania event, it jumped straight to 7/14 (and therefore misses the tickets for the missions 1-6).
Not an error. The story missions only come up once. Once you complete them, they are done. You probably completed the first batch last year ... as @TeresaLisboa mentioned.

I completed them all last year so I don't have any story missions available

Ahhhh....that explains it, then. I asked in chat and was getting ready to hit up Tech Support. Now I don't have to. LOL! BTW, officially been playing a year. My first event was in the middle of Age of Ash last year. I think this was the first event I actually completed.

Cinemania and Long Awaited Mail are the two worst events in my opinion....mostly because their rewards are even more lousy than usual. However, I've found a secondary goal of collecting as many event liveries as I can....while I wait for GI to get their act together and rejuvenate the game in some way.
I agree.

Nothing worth the effort.
No new destinations....
No noteworthy rewards.

I will skip that event...

That explains why. I start playing September last year, with this Cinemania event as one of the first events.

OK, some fun facts about the buildings in this event.

The Triumph Hotel is based on the center section of Bensberg Castle near Cologne, Germany. Johann Wilhelm II commissioned the building as a hunting lodge. It was designed by Count Matteo d'Alberti and started in 1703. By 1711 a portion of the building but Johann Wilhelm did not live to see it's completion. He died in 1716 and the castle fell into disrepair because it was not used by subsequent rulers.

It was used as a field hospital in 1793 during the coalition wars and again in 1813 by the French.

From 1840 to 1918, it served as a Prussian cadet institute and after WW1, it was barracks for occupation troops ... multiple times.

It has been used to house homeless families, and has been used by Bensberg municipality, the Evangelical church and the National Socialists and perhaps, for a time, as a high school.

In 1997, it was purchased and extensively restored - an undertaking that cost 75M euros and is now a 5 star hotel.

In more recent news, FC Köln football club used the site as their training grounds during the covid-19 lockdowns.

The Retro Movie Theater is based on the Senator Theater in Baltimore, MD.

This theater - designed by John Zink in the Art Deco style - was built in 1939. Even today, movies start only after the luxurious curtains are drawn open to reveal the movie screen.

Many celebrities have attended movie premiers here including Matt Damon, Matthew McConaughey, John Travolta, Joaquin Phoenix, Selma Hayak and Edward Norton. It is a popular spot for premieres with directors John Waters and Barry Levinson premiering most of their films there ... movies like Ladder 49, Runaway Bride and The Accidental Tourist.

Like all theaters of the kind, it has struggled to remain profitable with big theater chains who have the power to block small theaters from getting first-run movies.

The theater stopped showing movies in 2009 when it was renovated and reopened in 2010. That lasted only a short while and the theater was closed again for additional renovations creating 3 additional theaters and reopened in 2013.

This week, the theater is showing Jungle Cruise, Old, Black Widow, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Stillwater and In the Heights.

Another building from this event - The Movie Company Office is based on the Turning Torso in Malmo Sweden.

I've seen this building after flying into Copenhagen and traveling to Lund. My Swedish colleagues are very happy to pronounce that this is the tallest building in the Nordics. But it's also the 2nd tallest residential building in all of Europe (the tallest unsurprisingly is in Moscow)

And it is supposedly the first twisting skyscraper in the world - we now see lots of them so the architect - the famous Santiago Calatrava who has designed many other highly recognizable buildings - started a trend. The design was based on a white marble sculpture that Calatrava himself made.

Completed in 2005, the building's use is primarily residential apartments but it also contains offices. Floor 49 contains a public observation deck.

The building is completely sustainable with 100% of the energy used in the building being renewable from hydro, solar, wind and geothermal.

Fun facts
- in 2006, an Austrian skydiver named Felix Baumgartner parachuted onto the building and them jumped off of it (hopefully still wearing a parachute)
- control tower level 9 is also based on Santago Calatrava's work

Is Felix Baumgartner - who likely is most famous for recent "jump to earth". But yes, parachuted from helicopter, to the Torso, then to ground.

I hope to see the Turning Torso in person one day along with Øresund Bridge.
