I installed an airport city game for Android and things look a little different. The loading and adding passenger on planes look different. It said 5.8.9 on the beginning.

there's a bug with new version: the hints for all collectible items in the Collections menu don't work.
We're aware of it, a fix release is on its way tomorrow.
The special event should work fine, though.

This is a wild guess at this point, because we have no control over it, but something along the lines of 3-12 days from now.

The good thing is that you are not dependent upon neighbors for event gifts. As long as people keep their Universities built in the airport for you to visit, it won't hurt your chances of completion, even if your neighbors have completed the event.

We need to make sure we keep our universities built until after iOS users finish. I will. Depending on how many I get, right now I have zero.
Well, while waiting for the event to appear for iOS, I placed 6 Universities in my city for the others to visit them.

The screenshot in settings takes a picture but it does not seem to save it anywhere in android.Looked in my gallery nothing.Update I have found them they are in Google photos silly me.

A nice change in the new version is that the guest planes now take off when they are refueled/loaded.

Think an actual ios update it looming, so either apple or GI are holding back to make sure there isn't a mass crash like the last time an AC and ios update launched about the same time.

You can't buy the University. You get it by gathering items from event flights. Those flights will show up when you get the event on IOS.
