I know the event is not over yet, but unless G! decides to get really generous with drop rates over the next 2 days, I won't be finishing it.

I have 15/100 biker jackets and I'm only 1/2 way to progress level 18. I doubt I will even get to the spyglass.

Why is it a sad day? Well, for the first time since I started this game Feb 1, 2020, I will not get a forum badge for the completion of the event. That's the real reason why I work so hard to complete them. It's not for event competition placing because it's almost impossible to beat the cheats. It's not for the crappy buildings that don't add any value (and usually end up in the warehouse). The real reason I complete events is this forum and the forum badge.

I refuse to pay the 30 greenies I would need to spend to guarantee I could finish the final task.

I refuse to pay the roughly $20 to get the premium and level ups to get to the crappy Mad Scene.

And it seems like there are a lot of you thinking the same way I do. There are only two people who have completed this event by the time I write this post. Two fairly new players who, no doubt, paid a lot for the prestige of being the only two players to earn this badge. Congratulations to them! They will have quite unique badges.

But I'm glad there are only two players there. And I really hope there are no more who complete it ... and I especially hope there are none who pay to complete it.

Maybe then G! will listen.

I complained to GI and was told it was normal that some items are hard to get. They got a second earful. Told them to look at how many people have finished without buying to do it. Don’t think it will make a scrap of difference.

8/10 Tasks is where it will end for me. 23/40 Musical Instruments, 4/100 Biker Jackets, just hit Level 14 when I cashed in the rest of the tasks.

My run of completed events ended a couple of events ago. It wasn't that I was playing less, it just seems that there are one or two tasks that are nigh impossible without spending $ on either premium or at least spending greens on a couple of event boxes. I've spent about $40-50 on this game since I began about a year ago, but I reserve that for buying greens for land expansions and Tesla Power Plants. And frankly the rewards for Premium haven't been compelling enough for me to want to change that strategy.

They still can't even get the ads working for us Windows format players. Why patronize them? If only I hadn't spent money the money I've spent on this game so far. NO MORE!!!!
The events are getting harder to complete unless you have an endless fuel supply to make the necessary flights to get enough "event cash", and you stay up 20 hours a day flying flights and clicking on the festival camping and Music Arenas which have given me a total of 8 biker jackets out of 100 in 5 days of playing about 8 hours a day.

Ya, GI sucks as usual.

Just fix what's broken before you ask people to buy into your system. 3....4...months now and they can't get the ads working for everyone? How long do they need to START CARING ABOUT THEIR PRODUCT? 6 months? 1 year?

There is a fundamental difference between hard to complete and pay to complete.

As I’ve said many times, there were many events I didn’t finish in my first 2 years but I could use some of the achievements the following year to then complete that event. I always chuckled when I saw people saying you can’t finish events first time round as it was true for lots of players in the day but as you AV game grew and you got bigger/better buildings and aircraft then events started to get easier.

Yes, some events were silly easy in that a few of us completed them in minutes of the event starting as we had so much saved from the previous versions of events but since the launch of this new style of event there seems to have been a change to pay to win. I say it seems to be a change as we get zero info from GI, I know that ur quan came back on to the forum a few days ago and I know he got some tricky replies but that’s understandable when GI seem to think players want little cars instead of a proper game - oh yeah that was a suggestions from the Facebook players as their game is no longer supported by flash player being stopped.

And so we get to this event, there are two people on the forum who will look like finishing it but that’s not down to everyone else having small AC games or lower levels of buildings/planes - it’s purely down to programming which encourages players to buy items with greens, many players have to pay money to get those greens - that’s not game strategy, that’s greed. I could easily use my mints to pay for the items but for my own game then the rewards of completing it are not worth it, it’s just another building in the warehouse but lots of people will want that completion and want that building and they will pay to complete. There are estimated 75 million AC downloads up to sept 2019, and just a few thousand of us on this forum. That’s a potential for a lot of people buying those chests with jackets. By the way, don’t get me started again on CBM, it’s just plane not fair that no one over the last 3 years can get them which creates spilts in levels of players - we all need each other, I have the full 500 neighbours, I keep swapping some neighbours to get those new players to join me and send gifts in the hope I can send one back to them at some point or join a launch.

Its one event - maybe, maybe not but it’s been getting like this more and more over the last events with this new style. If this is a blip whereby it’s just a simple mis calculation by GI then fair play and we can all get back to finishing events , if not then let’s watch the cash tills roll for GI

I have this uneasy feeling that G! is (remember that they also read the comments on this forum) in "bad" competition with this forum. Why do I say this? Since the pay-to-finish system started the only thing that kept us going was the forum badge (since G!'s rewards are distasteful) now G! is taking that away and for this I say well played now let's see if you'll break the comraderie, the friendships and alliances entranched in this forum

Totally agree, but it's ironic that they wanted a community to enable space launches and gifting - but thier forums were rubbish as is the official Facebook page, it was only when I found this forum did I learn so much from the likes of Robbie from Indonesia, Rockys launch groups before messenger launch groups became popular and all the pages of help on here from other players

And for those people from GI who read this, in the past I’ve bought greens, I’ve had gold subs and I did buy the first premium pass as I though it was great value - I have no issue paying for aspects of games, I’ve played games on all consoles for too many years to mention. But my gold sub stopped because of the item limit and the premium passes after the first one were lower in game value

EDIT - and just for the record, I do think the new style event rewards are good, the fact that all players are in a league of 100 players of similar level is a great idea and the rewards for all players are better than the previous style in my opinion, the premium pass is an individual decision that should be made on personal preference, not one to finish or not finish. And I love hard events, events which go down to the last minute, where you have to fly to multiple destinations to build buildings to then get an item , but as I said there is a fundamental difference between hard to finish and pay to finish. If I then do not finish that hard event it’s no big deal, I tried but failed

The warehouse limits- fundamentally a good idea but 100, way too low, 500 or even 250 would have been better, or a way to drop items to build a building expansion - it would still bringing in a level of game management.

What G! never realized (and maybe they still don't) was they weren't ever in competition with this forum. It IS this forum that makes the game. Without this forum, AC would have died a painful death years ago.

Agreed, I am sad for the same reason. I cannot earn the badge because the drop rate on the jackets is next to nothing. I'm at 14/100 and I click nonstop. I also agree about the ridiculousness that it has been over 3 months and I still don't have an ad on Windows. They give us cars driving around on the streets....oh boy.... FIX THE ADS! Give us LEVELS! Improve the game, omg, seriously don't care about some stupid cars driving around.

Um no. I've gone in to see the Christmas tree for the event (and quite frankly surprised to see it is still there and the snow still isn't gone).

Perhaps the developers are working on upgrading their skills so they can leave AC behind

I feel your pain. One task left 23 biker jackets, that’s after using both the lucky ticket and basement bonus.2nd event in a row that I will have missed by one task because of poor drop rates. Puts me off doing the events in the future

It is a shame though that the Gi graphic art team can so good, while customer support and game design teams are so pathetic.
