Yes, that is important. Nothing annoys more if you have everything ready, start the purple map and realize that it needs some things to fly. I tend to forget about it from time to time :)

@Navigata07 - info from today. There will be new event, during which there will be collection "Business Angel" with Design Bureau as reward. If I remember correctly, some players had it last year by mistake. EDIT - it should start on wednesday or thursday.
