windows 10 update damaged

when my windows 10 tried to update, I got an error 0x80073712, Microsoft says the only way to fix it, is to reinstall windows 10 Home. I told them it wasn't worth the hassle and time, I told them to take a flying leap. They kept pressuring me until I finely shutdown the online chat.

They are not supporting any old versions of windows officially any more, They automatically tell you to install windows 10 again. They have to keep some unofficial support for windows 8 and vista but according to them by summer only supported version will be windows 10.
