iOS Axes from cloud drops

When tapping clouds, sometimes I will see an animated axe. I don’t find it in my inventory. What is it?

axes chop down your trees, zoom in, then hit the base of the tree 3 times, you can get items from it, but not like the clouds

They drop the "I've Sharpened My Axe" collection. Occasionally.

Tap/click trees 3 or 4 times. You may have to click in different spots. An axe will appear and cut it down.

I ignore chopping trees i found you get about 1 drop in every 3-400 trees chopped, totally pointless and a waste of time and energy for me. Cloud drops are more regular so if i remember and can be bothered i click clouds

I do not bother with either of these two - no chopping of trees or clicking of clouds - it is just not worth being toyed with, for little or nothing in return.

I tap some clouds, mainly when I'm collecting coins/pass. I guess it's easier for mobile users, as we tap, don't click... clicking is much more intentional, tapping is much more "by the way"
I don't think much about that quest, just a tap here and there and I got already some collections, not many
