Hi!

It's preview time, again, and it turned out to be quite a big one, too.
7.2 update comes out next week!

Curse of the Valley of the Kings
  • Complete the Curse of the Valley of the Kings special event to get an Amphitheater.
  • One more building, Hanging Gardens, will be available through direct purchase.
  • Collect Pharaoh Masks during the event and participate in the event ratings.
  • Use Pharaoh Masks to purchase buildings, bonuses, chests, and alliance badges in the event store.
  • The buildings for sale in the event store are: Sarcophagus, Quiet Place, Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, and Ancient Sanctuary.
  • Amphitheater, Sarcophagus, Quiet Place, and Mausoleum of Halicarnassus are all coin-producing tourist attractions with healthy boosts to max. population — and Amphitheater also boosts passenger buildings nearby.
  • Meanwhile, Ancient Sanctuary both boosts max. population and produces a random collectible item once per day.

Gameplay Changes

  • You can now service more than two guest planes at the same time, if you have free stands for them. For example, if you have Level 13 Control Tower and 14 free stands, you’ll be able to land up to 16 guest planes: 14 will go to stands, and 2 will wait in the queue.
  • Most of the chests and sets with random rewards now have an ‘equal chances’ note — and few of them that previously had variable drop rates now have equal chances indeed. Launch Ready set is a prime example of that change: the chance to get something valuable like Powerful Explosive Bolt is a lot higher now.

UI / UX Changes

  • New Spaceship Launches UI (it was production-ready a year ago, but we needed to finish 7.0 first).
  • An option to choose frame rate (FPS) in the Settings menu; higher frame rate means everything runs more smooth at the cost of a slightly higher battery usage; default frame rate is 30 FPS for weaker devices, and 60 FPS for stronger ones, while Windows and iPad Pro players have an option to play with 120 FPS.
  • An option to choose low-resolution of high-resolution textures in the Settings menu; weaker devices (or at least those that are considered to be weak, there’re some false positives) will use low-resolution textures by default; this change requires a complete restart of the app — there’s a in-game prompt about that.
  • If you have a side mission to complete a flight, the ‘Show me’ hint will take you directly to the available plane on the stand, if you have an appropriate plane.
  • There’s now a ‘Find’ hint for collectible items acquired from spaceship launches in the Collections menu to see which space mission exactly you need for those.
  • If you can’t start a flight because you miss some resources, there’s now a more detailed hint how you can get those resources.
  • If you can’t start a flight because you miss some fuel and you have some fuel ready at the Fuel Station, the game will suggest you to collect that fuel.
  • New look for the re-start menu of Bank, Casino, and Mint (this is just for the UI to be the same across the game, there’re no plans to repeat those offers again in the foreseeable future)
  • You can now purchase territory expansions while in the editing mode
  • For early levels, the hint arrow will now suggest you to complete a flight that you’ve started but didn’t send away if you’re inactive for some time
  • Full screen mode by default for Windows version
  • Proper zoom-in and zoom-out with mouse wheel for Windows version
  • UI scaling for Windows version, it should now be more convenient to play on desktop
  • ‘Mouse over’ feedback for Windows version (this feature is in beta, and to be improved in future updates)

General

  • A couple of behind-the-stage tech features re-engineered to improve app perfomance
  • New look for the Airship Dock, Exhibition Center, Red High-Rise, and Gray High-rise
  • Better scale for the Car Dealership
  • Liquid Fuel joins all other space items in the Launch Ready set
7.2_13.png

Bug Fixes

  • Weekly Alliance Mission UI fixes
  • Inability to complete a side mission to upgrade a Terminal upon updating to 7.x version from 6.x
  • Wrong current fuel count in the fuel bar upon updating to 7.x version from 6.x
  • Additional bug fixes for planes being not shown upon completing flights while away from the game
  • Immovable Helicopter Pad while helicopter is in repairs
  • Rogue notifications in the Store for the new available items while there’re really none
  • Crossbill and Goldfinch helicopters standing not quite in the center of their Helicopter Pads (Finally! I’ve waited for this eyesore to be fixed since December, 2017)
  • Weather conditions for special event flights are now fixed to work the same way as regular flights, no more bad things to happen before you’ve flown at least one flight
  • Some other minor bug and localization fixes
Have a great weekend,
Ivan.

Sounds great. What are the exceptions, does this cover mystery super buildings? Did they used to have different chances?

I can't really do the full list as this is a public forum and I'm under NDA, but all 'buildings' sets always had equal chances since game's release, and there were only around 6 chests out of hundreds overall that had variable drop rates, and those were pretty minor ones, too (the ones you can easily get for free through playing). Nothing to be ashamed of, really, but since 99% of chests were 'equal chances' already, there's no point to make us seem more evil than we really are, and hide them.
