That's so sad. But it happened to me too once. Had to write to support three times to remind them that I wanted them back. In the end I did.

As promised this is how I got all collection needed for pyramids.
For preparation you need to gather as much fuel as you can. I usually started one round when I got 6-8K of fuel. Keep in mind that for one flight you need 60 fuel (for turboprop-takeoff and speed return) and 72 for jet plane. Regarding bonuses I used golden dice (4 greenies) and Family Ticket (got few from Duke's shop - advice - every time duke is at your airport buy one bonus for 8000 coins). Second think for preparation is maps. With lots of fuel and passenger you can get all needed items with one map - my advice - for all 6 pyramids you should have at least 3 - 4 of each destinations. Drop rate is (seldom) which is every 8 flights in average (with golden dice it is more like every 6). Don't give up too soon as I had periods of 20 flights without single drop, but had also periods with 4-5 items drop in a row. For me several active maps and switching flights worked much better then flying single map continuously. Third important thing for this strategy is to have free repair slot and decent amount of repair items needed for those planes (10-20 of each at least).
If you want 1 pyramid one of each map, 10000 fuel and lots of passengers should be enough. I was switching map destination after every flight. When I got enough of items from one destination, I combined other 4...
If you are shorter of maps, and you want all 6 pyramids (36 items from each location), combine 2 or 3 destination until you get all 36 from each location, then gather more fuel and do other. For those destination you don't need any additional items for flight.
I'm using same system for space needle (5 maps but every map had 5 items to be collected). Drop rates are very different. For some location I needed 40+ flight for one collection and for one location 3 flights were enough.
There is other "slower option" but for that you will need many maps from each destinations (tried to fly to Merida with 3 planes - got 1 drop in 10 flights without any bonus but didn't spend any extra fuel or passengers). Lift all 3 and then speed up last one as soon as I could and send him back. Then used one fuel catalyst for those other 2 planes so I can send them one more time.
For first system - have phone charger close (you'll need it). Nice addition is business class bonus - you'll get some extra coins for lots of flights. Alarm clock to instantly get all residents available to collect. Also try to have as many residential building as you can (those with short regeneration rate (up to one hour).
Hope I'll see some pyramids at you airports soon.

My REALLY slow method of getting drops. I just try to get 6 maps. These maps last for 6 hours so I pray I can get some drops during these 6 hours. At this time, I only use one plane and just use the regular fuel timer. I typically get 1-3 drops for 1 map. So theoretically, I get 6 maps so that's 1 drop per map. Lots of Coins to buy the maps from Duke, but easy.

@Kesh Thank you for your writeup. It seems we have similar strategies. I only use one plane and one map destination at a time, but use lots of fuel to try and get as many flights as I can completed in the 6 hours. For me this translates into about 2-4 items for each map. My problem now is that I cannot seem to get the last two maps that I need to complete the collection for my first pyramid. (I do not buy the destination maps but instead use the excavation flights to collect them.)

Like many others I have the problem of not being able to join MOST space launches. There have been few that I have been able to join. I think it might depend on who starts the launch. Currently I have committed to a blue launch but cannot join any of the neighbors who have started them.

That's so sad. But it happened to me too once. Had to write to support three times to remind them that I wanted them back. In the end I did.

I have a very similar issue right now. I lost all my tokens and also any plane that was in flight. So now I only have half my fleet of planes and 4 empty hangars. Have sent one email to G! support so far but have not received a response. Sounds like I will have to complain some more.
