What is the deal with the Snow Ride mini game?

I don't get why the game is how it is? I see all the bonuses but how do you use them? Are they freely available to use (if so, how to activate?) or do you need to spend greenies to use them? And then, who thought this was a good idea? Personally, I happen to have neuropathy and arthritis in my hands and this is painful to use the space bar.

Since rush started I kept crashing so no longer doing mini game

You need to tap the bonus you want to use during the game. They are in the center bottom.
if they are greyed out, it means you dont have them, and need to watch an ad or buy them for greens.
The double bonus activates automatically

I'm on PC. I use space key for up/down and keep my mouse button on shields. So whenever I'm close to crash, I just click shield. Got little less than 100 snowflakes on a single "flight"/minigame play last night like that.
Also, use double reward when possible.

Sorry for the late reply. The double bonus can be either bought with greenies (4 for one double bonus, 7 for 2 and 9 for 3) or you can receive one a day by viewing an ad.
