Update 8.8 Available

Agreed - the new events are no longer fun - there are now just tedious slogs. The drop rates for biker jackets is dismal as usual, even with bonuses. Based on the current event format I will probably never again win a reward building. Even though I am completing the events, I'm not going to spend cash to get the reward building. At least before you could get the reward building without paying for it or playing the game 24/7!!
I have 6 festival parking buildings and not a single biker jacket has dropped in over an entire day. Is the arena\event building also required?

I presume they've switched to this new format to frustrate players enough into paying real money to complete; it is a business. 🤬

The 200 Owl flights should not drain your resource however - Bali needs Landing Lamp and Turkish Cost drops Landing Lamp. So if you have below 100 LL, you will end up exactly where you started ;)
I find if I'm flying lots of owl (4 planes) flights then that means I don't get fuel stacking up for the bigger flights. I'm just being moany as it means I have to pay more attention.
I'm probably going to give up as I have 6 camps and 4 arena that I've been hitting all day and not got one biker jacket. I need 12 ish per day to get the 100 for the event. It seems gi want to push for using bonuses secret basement ( to complete the events, was the same with the last one.

It's a shame cause I'm pretty sure I've completed every event except the first one that was already half way through when I created my account. Ah well, I'll just focus on different goals.

200 owl flights in 7 days. Groan. It's not difficult, just monotonous and fuel intensive as they are short flights.
Feels like events are now about draining resources rather than anything else. The last one was horrific for draining resources.
I said it a while back, that the way these events are presented are meant to empty our resources, remember that we have hoarded quite a bit of items prior to v7 and now G! is trying by all means to "balance" the field

The bonus building at level 10 is more lucrative than that at level 20 .....
That building generates 36.75 coins/hr and a 3x3, I would rather fill that space with Triumph hotel 2x2 (58 coins/hr) 58x8=464 coins/8hrs, retro movie theatre 2x2 (57coins/hr) 57x8=456 coins/8hrs, etc

the comparison only applied to the building at Lv 20, not to others. clear that it is 3x3 and the other 2x2. But it always depends on what you have available, how many buildings you already have from the others, whether you still need a lot of coins ... and ... and ... and everyone as they like

The Fuel Additive has expired and I'm on a gold sub, no extra fuel! What we pay for!!
you pay for G.I.
Since last year : the performance of the programmers at G.I. are so bad - it is a new team where careless programming is on the daily top activity. How come that with every release there a big problems? And then still that shit event - where the user get nothing - only G.I. is hoping to get more money from the players.

Thanks for the calculation. Got me thinking for a bit, but then the above does not cover the collection rate (which is different for every player)
Almost no one would be on AC every hour of the day to collect coins from the building which produce these every hour.

Sounds more like maybe lack of product management, specifically lack of quality control. Proper regression testing should uncover these gameplay issues\bugs. Perhaps GI isn't focused on AC which could be staffing related a\or pandemic too and rushing out events and fixes in hopes to keep its user base satisfied.

The big question is until when they can keep doing this? The majority of their long term players are losing their interests more and more. The newer players who love the platinum chest are complaining more and more about the crappy droprate.

But then again, their user base who are active in this forum and/or social media probably only a small percentage of all their players. So, I don't see this changing anytime soon.

Either adapt or getting burned. I, for one, choose to take it easy and stop spending. When I can't take it anymore, I'll be done playing this game. Players come and go, and with this new direction GI's taking, it seems that it's aimed for new players anyway.

Another option is to take temporary breaks. Even when I was a newer player I didn't feel compelled to work on every event. It can be a grind, and for long term sanity and allowing for alternate cash spending, I sometimes just spend a month grinding on stars and only collecting coins as I feel like it. Before COVID I also favored buildings that I only had to check in a few times a day (nothing less than once an hour, once every four hours was better).

If you are unhappy, just take a short break. The game will always be there, and then when I do feel like there is an event I want to grind on, I can prep in advance collecting fuel, bonuses, etc. vs. always running lean.

I know everyone is in their own space, but the game is meant should serve us, not the other way around.

Happy flying! (even if it's just pattern work LOL)
