I guess they want your 'changed city' friend code so they can see where it came from, for a bug fix?
But I would have thought your original friend code would be the one they would need, to find your original game and restore it?

I'm not sure of the situation you're facing, but yes, the support team does want you to start a new game so you can get a new username (need to get to level 5 to do this).

If you're planning on using the same device to play your new game, then you will need to delete the old game in order to start the new. I'd be very hesitant about deleting the current game until G! Support gives you some kind of guarantee that they can still restore the current game if you delete it from your device.

If you can, create a backup of you current game before deleting it. Good luck.
