The 100 Item Limit - Dave's Rant.

For those of you which are not aware of this, let me firstly explain.

All new players will have a limit of 100 of the same items being allowed in their warehouse

For people that started playing before the recent update, your warehouse will continue to be unlimited - even if you upgrade to the latest version.

However, if for any reason your game crashes and needs to be reset by GI Support, or you need to re-download the game and restore your progress from the GI servers - You will then unfortunately have the 100 limit imposed upon you. So as soon as you purchase a new phone or tablet and want to transfer the game across - you can say goodbye to your unlimited storage.

I've been playing the game for well over 5 years, and in all that time i've been running the forum, this really is the most shocking and abysmal restriction GI have placed on the game.

This restriction will totally transform the way people will have the play the game. This will affect virtually every single thing you do in the game. No more collecting for ages to be able to complete a map, taking part in a huge QL party and various other activities.

For me personally, this is a very sad day for Airport City. I can imagine an awful lot of long time players will either drastically decrease the amount of time they spend on the game, or even stop playing altogether.

Unfortunately, I will fall into the latter.I've had my own game plan for many years, where I like to save up and store items until im ready to use them - Whether that be taking advantage of the maps, or having a huge blow out in an all day QL party.

Over the years, I have spend hundreds of pounds purchasing greenies. Not only because I enjoy the game and for me this increases my playing pleasure, but also to support the developers. I can no longer play a game which imposes such drastic restrictions at the drop of a hat. Other changes had annoyed me as well such as the drop rate being reduced for planetariums and other such buildings.

For me, Airport City has stopped being a pleasure to play, and now more of a chore due to these constant changes.

Considering the huge annoyance this has been to players, im also very dissapointed in the developers response to this:



What on earth is a 'game balance'? Someone that starts playing today has very little chance of catching up with someone anytime soon that has been playing for numerous years.

Is this really their way of saying it's how they are going to stop the cheating? In which case, why punish and spoil the game for the many, rather then focusing your efforts on the actions of a few.

If I thought it would serve any good to show how appalling this restriction is, I would say lets all email GI support and post on their facebook page - However I believe this move is about making money and when a huge cooperation has the ££/$$ signs in their eyes, nothing will convince them.

Someone else mentioned this on another thread, but I had exactly the same thought. I envisage that at some point in the future there will be in ingame promotion such as "Increase your warehouse storage by 50! Click here to buy now!"

AirportCityGame.com will obviously continue, however the way GI are treating their core players, I can't ever imagine a 10th Anniversary taking place.

Hi @DarekK, i hate to see you go. You've been an excellent neighbor for my games. I'm playing AC also from the beginning and had a lot of fun from it.
But now with the 100-limit raised and rules are changing i'm also going to think it over to quit AC!!

I opened my game yesterday evening to find myself thrown back days of progress. The Fuel, The Greens, The Coins, The Building Progress, The Gifts, The Stars, Loosing about 300,000xp, The Launches, oh the launches. All lost.

sent a ticket to G! and we'll see what happens but with everything else happening this week I'm taking a break right now.

If I get anything back or not i'll probably get forced into this crazy limit.

1. Tell them - DO NOT SPEND MONEY. Everything can be accomplished with time.
2. Help them with information on how to play the game w/o spending money.
3. Send them gifts to help them level up.
4. Inform them - higher levels have ridiculous requirements.
5. Warn them - Leave now before you get addicted.
6. Warn them - once you reach the upper levels, the rules will change to make you want leave. (This is not the 1st time they have done this).
7. Tell them - DO NOT SPEND MONEY.

But only a small percentage find this forum...

My thought exactly. I spent $50 a month ago for greenies, in order to buy land expansions. Land on airport side...to buy more factories for pills, lollies and beds. Now, those factories are useless if a 100 limit takes effect. Even if I'm allowed to keep the unlimited...someday if I have to restore my game with a code...I will have the 100 limit. Not fun playing with that "threat" hanging over my head!

No more...GI will not get my money unless the warehouse limit is changed.

I voted undecided. I am still undecided.
If my game is infected with the 100 limit, GAME OVER. I spend way too much time playing this stupid game anyway.
I have a lot of time invested. Everything they add new is ridiculous. Upgrades are millions of dollars, crazy number of flights for a star. Drop rates for collections ridiculously low.....

But I keep clicking, and clicking, and clicking... stupid game.

We've enhanced the game balance a bit touching upon the item system. Now you can have a maximum of 100 items of one type in your Warehouse. If you want to keep gathering more items, you have to use the existing ones first and make their count lower than 100 pieces.
Don't worry, if you have any extra items - they won't be taken from you in any case.

I think that confirms what most of us have been fearing. Once you get it you will not be going back and if it's a game henhancment then it's only a matter of time before it works it's way to everyone.

The reality is GI had to do something. Some people are running 20,000,000 passengers a week. I don't know how it works but people that have a rooted phone and are backing up the game are cheating. Not all people backing up their game are cheaters, however all people that are cheating are backing up their game. What I find that is BS is new players are limited to 100 items, that is clearly not the problem. I am guessing this is how GI will stop people from backing up their game. Not sure. It must be the only way GI can stop the cheaters. I wonder if GI is going to make this a automatic update. For me I have not decided yet, I don't cheat or back up my game.

However this new alliance thing is a complete JOKE!!!!
