That's not fair - Down The Rabbit Hole event

Down The Rabbit Hole event was fun. But seeing all my efforts was for nothing,isn't fun.

For one week,I collected 11k Magic keys. For that,I made more than 200 flights,visited neighbours and welcome guest planes as much as I can. Even for the last minute.
And after that last minute,all gone.

I'm new in the game. Playing for 2 weeks only. But I couldn't stop myself to say THAT'S NOT FAİR!

Maybe next time,in next event,I will collect special units like magic keys,but I will not be able to play in the last day of event. So all my efforts will go to trash can.
Really,that's not fair. I should have be able to use them after event ends.


Do I overreacting?
Or do I know wrong and have a chance to use my magic keys now?

You can’t use keys after the event has finished. You’ve misunderstood how it works. You have to spend them before the event ends. You will be given coins to compensate.

spend them or loose them, that's how it is. You don't have to wait until the last day to spend them, and spending them has no influence on your ranking or other event-possibilities (flying destinations, buildings, items outside your city) or whatever.

Actually I haven't misunderstood. I didn't know that and there isn't any warnings.
Now I know how it works. Learned from hard way.
Game gave me 2000 coins. In the other hand I would buy 2 special building which could increase my max population.

Anyway, now you know and the next event will be right around the corner.

I didn’t look at this event in particular, but whatever the item is that you collect for each event (different each time), there has always been a note in the instructions suggesting that you need to “use them or lose them”.

I can't remember the rules exactly, but I remember having the same problem in my first event. I saved everything until the last day and only used it because I saw a couple of people on the forum mentioning it expires after the event is over. I think it should be more clear, if it wasn't for the forum I would have lost everything too the first time. And I did read the rules, if there was anything about it, it wasn't explicit.
