Realise now why couldn't see you on the launch pad, was looking for Capt Rollins account, not wire parrot...
Must do a neighbour invite, so hopefully can join in next time round!
Cheers,
Az

Very sorry to read you had problems - I do not open these launches although I use to in the early days, back in February 2016 - I will not bore you with the historical reason's why I no longer do. Do make sure you send neighbour invites to @Wired Parrott and @Harcourt - they take turns opening these small resoures flights.

Regards
Captain WH Rollins

Sorry if i Jumped the top spot, wasn't intentional, there were still points left in the pot at the time for Kendra to add. I think a late comer added enough to trigger the launch. I was very surprised to be a 1 when I looked later in the night.

That doesn't explain what happened.... Are you saying that you added other resources other than the specific items listed?

@must_dash Yeah, that explanation doesn't really make sense. You are a forum member... You were right here on this thread with the rest of us, clearly you knew the rules of the launch. Why would you randomly add large items?? To push me to add large items just to get my place back? That kind of defeats the purpose, wouldn't you say? And to do so after everyone else has been playing fairly and patiently for 5 hours... Just a dick move, honestly.

The problem is you were not in a position to be able to take first if adding small resource items only.
@Kendra was adding in a very timely fashion holding first the entire launch. If following those same rules
it is impossible to take first without adding say a large fuel tank which is not allowed in these launches.
So again the question to you @must_dash how exactly did you take first following the launch guidelines?

Understand I do not like having to question you, this situation is something that has happened only on two
other occasions. These launches are designed to be a fun distraction but when a player takes the time to
take and hold first for hours it just is not fair for another to ignore how the launch is run in order to take that
position. We understand mistakes can happen and pretty much all participants have been gracious
when this has happened and the player immediately posts their mistake. Please make note again how the
launch works by reading the first post in this thread posted by @Captain WH Rollins
Unfortunately we will now have to keep a very close eye on you during these launches and any other
transgressions like this will result in your omission from future launches.

@Kendra and @BelleAIr please accept my apologies on behalf of all of us that help put these together.
The group has been so good at following the guidelines for so long that I failed to watch more closely at
the end when things like this would happen. My placement was not an issue as being the starter I will
never take first as it is bad form being that I am first in and as such could take it every time I start the launch.
Again my sincere apologies for this unfortunate situation I will do my best when available to watch for any
anomalies in future launches.

  • I have no idea how it happened. I had issues with my phone yesterday and it crashed during the launch.
  • I would not deliberatly hijack a launch, especially amongst forum friends. It was not intensional.
  • I have apologised publicly.
  • I messaged @Kendra this morning to apologise.

Anything else to do?

No we were just wondering how it happened because as I explained it was not possible for you to get first in the time
frame when you overtook @Kendra
Perhaps something happened when your phone was having issues. Thanks for the explanation it is appreciated.
As I said we were just wanting clarity on what transpired. It is unfortunate but I do believe you did not intentionally
take first.

@Wired Parrott @Kendra @BelleAIr @Captain WH Rollins @must_dash

I have followed the last few messages in this thread and will add my views to those already expressed.

As the Captain stated, he originally used his own account to start these launches. However he had non-forum friends who could not be appraised of the rules and who jumped in with large resources.
At this point Wired Parrott took it upon himself to set up a second account specifically for these Friday launches, at some personal expense !. I also decided to do the same so that we had some back-up.
These have worked well with one exception. However with the latest upgrade we can now kick someone off the Launch (which we could not do before) and Unfriend them which would delete both ends of the neighbours link.
Enough of the history lesson :)

I set out below the maximum number of points anyone can put in starting at 5:00pm GMT in half hour segments. Those not on GMT can adjust the time accordingly.

I hope this will help in making it clear that anyone who breaks the rules can be monitored.

Of course people often break the rules inadvertently. However these flyers have always owned up in this thread at the time and taken steps to make sure that no advantage is taken.

I hope that future Launches will be free of suspicion and proceed in the spirit intended.
That is :-

To use up small resources.
To come together once a week and enjoy the feeling of togetherness with fellow neighbours.
To feel a sense of achievement when the Launch lifts off.

I agree with Wired Parrott's last post and hope we can get back to having successful launches without recriminations.

Harcourt
