billsnj - Just checked and New York requires 36 stars, level 22 with a Flight Catering Facility
Paris needs 40 stars, level 23
and Moscow (which I understand you are able to fly to) is 32 stars, level 21 - so can you check that you have enough stars - found next to your experiance points (top left corner)

tdv - If you read my signature - I'm at level 33 and have 63 Stars. I paid to Unlock Moscow - I seem to think that according to Areo - I should not have do so!
Please read Aero's post 11/21/12 psot # 43. His claim is that he has never spent an real bucks - I assume he means Green not Gold - I have approx 700,000in Gold.
So my question is how do you "UNLOCK" without spending as Aero claims "real bucks"? Can you explain ??? Thanks !!!!

As far as I I know Aero is playing on the android, same as me...

I was just trying to give you the details of that destination - so you could see and compare if you met all the perquisites - As aero said never spend greens fo these kind of things - and NEVER real money

tdv - So you are saying that the rules of Airport City are different between Ipad and Android. In a way this doen't make sense to me , (a former Project Mgr). Sure GI had to adapt the Game & Code to the 2 different Operating Systems - but I don't understand why they would re-code the nuts & bolts ie the rules to do this. It just adds to the ongoing maintenance. Could GI be that stupid ???
Question - do the Andriod players have the "USERNAME" issue that we IPAD player must cope with ?????

With current programming it is only conditional statements... so unlock destination if stars =XX, flight catering=true, flight school=true etc... But obviously they just either forgot to add the remaining statements in or left it out to speed up the code...

a good example is when they released the game for the android (this is going back to V1.3x) there were no destinations in level 31 to 40, they then introduced them and until almost V1.41 they did not drop the number of flights required to get 3 stars (it was something obscene like 400 flights each) – again because they did not expect anyone to get that far...

There does appear to be difference in programming and their releases... for the android platform they have two releases (even number versions and odd number versions) – although I am able to run both versions if I force my device to do it... Why the two versions I ask my self... perhaps support for different hardware or screen resolution? - at one stage (I think it was around v1.41) we were hit by the “username” issue – they managed to solve it on the even number versions – but the odd number versions still seems to be bugged by its reminisce... As far as I remember it took them about 3 version updates to get it fixed then... so you would think it is nothing new!!

All iDevice users initially appear properly when they add me or I add them – but after we accept each other – it turns into username.. I have looked at the underlying data file and cannot see anything obvious – I even tried to edit the name – but over time the GIS servers just overwrite it back to “username”

I think it is something to do with their servers – the way it is allowing the game translation between the platforms and the way it stores the info... Perhaps the game has just outgrown their servers and cracking under the strain – the classic sell sell sell – but customer support is 1 person in a tin shack somewhere (no offence to anyone in a tin shack.... )


Anyway all the ranting and raving does not change the price of fish or fix your problem...

I would still say – hold out till GIS get their act together... If the android platform is anything to go by – they will try to squeeze you for every green bill you have and then more... like a casino – the house always wins...

Perhaps someone on the iDevice platform might be able to shred some light if the Moscow/new york destinations can be unlocked without spending greens... I did a google and GIS support forum check and could not find anything useful.. Will let you know if I come across anything.

tdv - TY for reply - very interesting - my brief conclusion is that the Andriod players are very lucky not having to buy GREEN to open Flight LVL 21-30. For us Ipad'ers the GREEN cost for these 10 fight is 50 GREEN per flight or 500 GREEN. Using the least expensive method to buy 500 GREEN = approx $130.00. This is on top of the GREEN the player has to purchase to buy land at 20 GREEN per plot. I did a very quick estimate - figure I've invested close too $70-90 US Bucks !!!!! So I need to say is the game worth another $130 (minimim).
RE: Your comment about the casinos --I go into AC about twice a week. Play craps anddo much better than I do at Airport City LOL
Thanks again for your input - I did find it very interesting. Think I'll post something over on the IPAD Forum about GREEN????
BTW - I've been flying to destinations for more than a week+ trying to open my First Sleigh Hanger - still missing 2 SleighOil and 2 Heaters - I have 3 flighst going all day and into the late evening - plus I got a few GIFTS - talk about GI not understanding how difficut the game can be and then adding their lack of SUPPORT - they just don't get it do they ???

Are you sure that you have build and completed and have now a running Catering Facility? All destinations starting with Moscow above need this building and stay unlocked until you complete at least one of them. That all destinations are showing that you have to spend 50 greens to unlock them indicates that this building is missing.

TimP - What I'm was saying was this - I paid 50 GREEN to unlock Moscow and I can fly to Moscow - no problems. My "RANT" was that to open all 10 Flights in VL 21-30 would cost the player 500 GREEN or approx $130.00 U S Dollars.
To date - I have not opened any of the other flights and while I do not have a Catering Facility - I fly to Moscow using GIFTS or Drops. I have in my Warehouse approx 53 Flight Catering at this time.

TimP - TY for reply - I purchased a Flight Catering Facility and spent 2 GREEN Bucks to speed build. Now I find that I need 3 Defrosters and 2 Packaging Machines - these drop SELDOM from Dubai. So checking lvl 21-30 only Moscow is unlocked and Iwill have to wait until I get the Defrosters and Packaging Machines. I will update my Signature. -- Again THANKS

For all buildings above Level 2 check out the thread on what is required so you can start gathering them before you build.
Note for all 4 items they can be traded.

The Defrosters are not giftable between iPad users. A set of three takes about 50 flights to Dubai. I have 3 FCF so far, and have 3 planes flying to Nice and Dubai to get another.
I have all destinations open, have not invested any RL cash, and have only ever spent Greens on Land and Disposable Shampoo.
I do wish Dave would update the Buildings Guide though.

OK when I got my first FCF GI decided that Defroster should not be giftable and they took it away from any destination drop, you needed to pay greenies to get them. This was before I discovered this site, where I believe certain members kept their gifting lists.

Though I didn't benefit myself, I believe there was a short period when certain Android users could gift Defrosters to iPad users, but I haven't seen mention of this recently, and maybe GI have closed this loophole. Maybe Tdv or Sophie could confirm this.

If you read the previous replies, there is no-one who can gift Defrosters. Sorry, but you have to fly to Dubai.
