Good grief! Thats a lot of flying. I'm still confused between the adventure and excavation I guess. Would someone be kind enough to enlighten my old brain?
Not exactly a sharp distinction, but as I understand it: Excavation is the 1 flight per 1 map you buy from Duke for 2k coins each. On Excavation flight you may dig up a Map Chest with 1 random map to an Adventure. They always come in 6-packs: 1 Excavation that can yield 5 Adventures.

Let me try to understand...all the unpaid for maps I have are the adventure (timed) ones? I have not used any of them because I have no idea what plane flies to them. Its still very confusing. I know there is a guide out but I could not follow it either.:watching:

The easiest way I have found to tell the difference is to click on the collections. Excavation destinations are under the space tab. Adventure destinations are under the Adventure tab.

Excavation rewards will drop items for space flights.
Adventure rewards will drop random collection items.

Look under the Airport City Guides section for Greensmith's guides for complete instructions.

Well, that's yet another thing, Space destinations.

@mia/a1r1vry : The one-use Excavation maps are in your warehouse under items, like Landing Lamps (because they work in exactly same way) The timed maps are under the "maps" tab.

Ugh! Agent L is right. Not enough coffee this morning so please ignore my post about the space flights. That's a whole different set of confusion.

You bought your Excavation maps from Duke Crocker. As you were flying to Stonehenge you should have received a chest on some of your flights.
If you open the chest, you will receive a map to 1 of 5 different destinations (Avaricum, Gergovie, Londinium, Bibracte, or Alesia). Activating the map will let you fly to that destination for 6 hours. Fly as many flights as possible to that destination in the allotted time. You may get an item drop for the "Guardians of the Forest" collection (this is the 3rd collection on the Adventure tab). 6 drops from each of the destinations (completing the collection 6 times) will yield one Stonehenge reward.

Lots of flying, lots of time, lots of work, but worth it.

Hope this helps.

Easiest way to see the required plane for each map is from flights tab/ adventure flights tab. Easiest way to start with adventure is to buy maps from duke (mesoamerica is easiest) that map can give you maps for 5 additional destinations (same is for any other map you buy from duke's shop for 2k coins). When you collect some maps you can plan your flight system. From my experience lower level planes will allow you to use extra fuel for instant return. That means that with some additional bonuses (golden dice, dice, sky captain or combo of all or some) you will increase the chance of items drop from one of those 5 maps. Odds without any bonuses are 8-10 flights from one drop. With combo bonuses odds increase to 3-5 in average. 6 collection (6 items from each of those 5 different maps) will give you one adventure building. You can built 6 of each. Each building will give you one regular collection item per day.
And for start Mesoamerica for dukes map for mesoamerica you need turboprop, for mesoamerica destinations (5 of them) for 2 you need turboprop, for other 3 need jet. For all other information you can refer to flight tabs in your game (there you can see the type of plane, fuel requirement and passengers requirement). Also for first 10 adventure tasks flight lenght last 6 hours (didn't try falcon destination so cannot confirm their flight lenght - maybe it's 3).

In picture form ;-) (using AC version 4.5.5)

(I can't show Duke as he isn't here yet but will update when he is back) First you buy the excavation maps from Duke at 2000coins each. You can find in your warehouse like so.
Screenshot_20160906-211337.jpg

You can then fly to the excavation location as seen under the Adventure tab for flights. (if the plane is available then it won't show fly for greens)

Screenshot_20160906-211456.jpg

Once you fly there is a Seldom (99% sure its Seldom) chance of a drop for one of the 5 maps, if you get one it shows up like below.

Screenshot_20160906-211357.jpg

Click on it, then Use brings to to this screen, then open the box and click on the icon to see what map you get, like below.

You need to activate the map before you can fly it, once you click use it is now active for the time frame it states. You can fly as many planes as you wish.
Screenshot_20160906-212441.jpg

Again you find the destination under the Adventure tab.
Screenshot_20160906-211456.jpg

So fly away until the time runs out or you run out of fuel and passengers. If you are lucky you will get an item drop (best to use bonus' as described above - Golden Dice is what you need)

Screenshot_20160906-211708.jpg

For one of the Adventure buildings you need to get 6 drops from each destinations (so for all 6 of the building you need 36 drops per destination).

Good Luck ;-)

Edit - The extra experience is because I have Lucky Cap activated.
