I've played for a year and a half, don't recall there ever being a better sale on greenies, except maybe fall & spring fair - but that won't be back for close to 6 months. The only benefit to that is you can get a mystery bonus each day for 30 days.

No, only every second week there is a sale, where you can get 7x more coins or 3x more greenies for same price as usual.
