General Opening Launch Ready Chests

I've got a batch of launch chests to open and I was wondering whether others find that using a bonus helps getting the better fuel? Or do they not really make much difference.?
I found a year-old thread, but things may have changed since then.
I'm sure whatever I do, I'll end up as the solid fuel king, but I thought I'd ask

I was one of those that posted results, and over time I would say that no bonus' make a difference. Personally open 10 or 20 boxes, if you are having no luck then give up and try again later or the next day. You will get good days and bad days for getting PEBs, just luck really.

In my (limited) experience, I have no evidence to say that it is anything other than absolutely random.

I open 5 at a time unless i get one of the big 2 fuel items then open 5 more. Ie today i opened 5 got a PEB so opened another 5 got another PEB and finally got a third with the next 5. Last 5 were only lower items, so i got 3 pebs out of 20 boxes. Note though this is rare I haven’t had a PEB for about a month
