My mind has gone blank could someone please tell me what the next event is? Also will the event with the VIP lounge be repeated?

Next event in about 3 weeks.... it is new, don't know how it is called, but maybe facebook can tell us.
You have to collect 3 collections 3 times. It is only for level 50+ players, collections are from level..... 52, 54 and 55 (guess)

If facebook has a new 'chest' with items they don't know, they can see for what quest the items are... maybe they can tell us.
That is the way we predicted new quests in the past (every level up had a quest like this)

So we will be leveling up from Level 50 finally? But we are so affected by it because our XPs are frozen and we can't accumulate anymore. We were practically robbed of XPs this whole time. I wonder if they are adding it in their server and they will just add it up during the update?

Yes, i am doing this for days already, on both games... I am guessing that GI will reset XP points for all, and we need to earn them again. So it is good to collect different collections, lunar are the best...

Would you be able to explain it in details? I'm not sure I understand. What do you mean save your lunar collections?

When visiting planetariums you get a couple of collections that give you 2000 coins and a 1000 xp, or something like this.

If GI will reset our XP points, then all will start from zero. I hope this will not happened, but as i heard, it happened on vkontakte users (please somebody correct me if i hearrd wrong ).

In that case, you will need 20.000 XP points to got to next Level (from present 50 to next 51). And, not easy to get them just by few clicks... So, the point is, that meanwhile you can save lunar collections, and as @M22 described, lunar collection gives you 2k coins and 1000 XP points. Each! So, to have around 50 lunar collections ready (to do a Collect) would be fine, so progress from Levels 50 to 55 should be "instant"...

I'm not sure if this is old news for non FB players but here is the latest from the FB game. I reached level 55 and exp shut off. Each level up between 50-55 yielded 1 green and a couple thousand coins...Lame!! The experience meter disappeared upon reaching level 55. Max fuel is now 105 units. New Falcon flights become available at each new level and some random quests will become available. To launch the Falcons you need to spend a bunch of coin.... runway 6, Hangar 6 and upgrade your repair facility. You also need to build a "Sweets Factory" which yields fruit lollypops which are required to launch the Falcons. Plan on spending a couple million to get the Falcons flying. I purchased 2 Falcon jets for 100 Silver / 10 Gold so I didn't have to spend 800,000 coins on the jets. Sorry if this is old news but just thought I'd pass along my experience with the level 50-55 upgrade. Happy flying all.

On FB you are ranked against your neighbors according to Level and the tie breaker is the star count. Exp never mattered towards rankings so why does it matter if they get rid of it?

True. But GI changed the policy of the game many times. Who can prevent they will not do it again? And just reset our XP points to zero for all?

Because I don't care about rankings. I don't care if I am 1,000th. I do however, care about leveling up because the only way to progress on the game is to level up. Example, you can't send certain flights or build some buildings if you are not on a certain level. If I am not mistaken leveling up depends on your accumulated XPs. And the point is, we already earned them. They are already ours. Taking them away is robbery.

Competition is what drives cheating, because players want to be the first or something.

When new levels are introduced it's pretty easy to get the exp to level up. Most of my neighbors have already reached level 55 and we all started with zero exp the day the new levels were introduced. Only took most of us a few days. Lots of people just turned in a bunch of space collections for 1000 exp per set. Once you reach the highest level what is the point of accumulating exp? I guess I don't see your point.
