Besides that, Ivan only said that bigger plans have higher chance without stating how much higher. If Giant has 2x the drop chance of Turboprop, then Turboprops still win when you factor in the 8x faster flight...

1. If you haven't used a Spy Glass yet, you should use one or buy one.
2. Try to land / click on a few planes at the same time.
   
3. Do not click on the planes as soon as they land, wait for a while (up to 1 minute)
   
4. Fly bigger planes
   
5. Sometimes, if you don't look, you find

Big quest like this one can be intimidating to new players. Even seasoned players like me also freaks out at first because there seem to be so many new things to do! But after a while, I find my footing and it gets fun.

1) At the beginning stage, it is important to click on neighbour's mushroom to get as many pocket knives as possible. Use @greensmith 's tip to activate Spyglass before doing your round of mushroom collecting.
2) Turboprops, Jets and Deltas will give you drops for shorter flight duration. Again, activating a Spyglass may give better drop rates. Time your flights so that they drop within the 6 hour active frame.
3) Beginners may not be able to complete the event without spending greenies or real cash, but you can still build the new "Egg" buildings, which are quite lovely in your airport.
4) If you have not built any Xmas or Russian hangars, you can build up to 6 of the new Card Hangars.
5) There is (usually) always next year to complete the job. Just have fun doing the event and grow your city, you will be much better equipped for the next quest!

What is a Spyglass, and where can I get it? It's my first event too, and I have given up on it, because nothing drops when I fly to Cheltenham.

@Ekenna Spy Glass is a bonus which helps drops during Quests/Events, it can be achieved through completing Five Islands Crest collection or bought in the store for 4 greens. It lasts for 6 hours.

You need like 200 flights to begin seeing some results. If you're going to give up on the event, then at least complete 6 Card Hangars.

Maybe it's bug but i can use normal plane on sleigh hanger .. i put turbo prop and can fly to its destination.

Yes, this bug has been in existence since version 4.16 I think (before Xmas).
It has not been fixed, but Free2play has said that it will be fixed eventually.
Just make sure you don't have any planes you will regret losing when that happens.

Don't worry.
Quest event is hard for beginner.
How can you have better drop rate without those bigger and more expensive planes.

Buying 6 event hangars is the best reward of this event! (unless you already have 6 other event hangars)

Because having 6 more planes is IMHO way more useful than +20 pop and +1% coins from Card Castle.
