Anyone notice the excavations destinations have 'always' drops? So far only on the destination I am Master. The destinations I have no stars are 'seldom' like normal.

I just noticed that Excavations: Mesoamerica added another map chest drop that drops ALWAYS. I tried it out by flying a few flights. I spent the fuel to bring them back early and yes, all three returned with map chests (one with 20 maps and the other two with city maps). I'm going to fly five flights overnight to see what happens.

OK, I didn't understand what Shinobi273 & Tecmage meant until I click on the (i) logo on the Excavations: Mesoamerica. There are now TWO Map Chests that can drop (one is always & the other is seldom).

This anomaly only occurs to me for Excavations: Mesoamerica in which Bali Hi is a "Specialist" and Bali2 is a "Master".
It definitely doesn't apply to Southern Europe & Scandinavia (where I am a Specialist).

Can anyone confirm @Shinobi's observation that this occurs for other excavations destinations where you are a "Master"?

I am expert on that destination and also have the always chest for Meso America only. Rest of the Excavation destinations are the normal seldom drops.

If I remember correctly, there was a side quest for Meso America excavation? It seems the "always" drop is not turned off after the quest is completed?

Does it still say 'always'? In the original quest, the first flight was always, after that it went down

Click on the (i) logo and see for yourself.

There are two Map Chests, one says "Seldom" and the other "Always".
So you should always get one map chest to drop, and on rare occassions, two Map Chests at the same time!

I meant, now you have done one flight, is the second chest still there? In the original quest, you also saw two chests until you made the first flight and then the always chest disappeared......

This is not my maiden flight. Already Master of Excavation: Mesoamerica.

I wasn't even thinking of continuing this flight as I already collected more than enough Pyramids.
But I had that idle Turboprop that already done the Sao Paulo runs, and I read Shinobi's post. So I did the flight twice, and the second time, 2 Map Chests dropped. That was the first time I had 2 Map Chests dropped on me. I was quite surprised!

Shinobi273 That would confirm that it is the original quest not turning off. That one always gave a Machu Pichu map on the first flight.

Same here. I sent three flights to Meso America and two to Manchu Pichu. The flights to Meso America returned with Manchu Pichu maps only.

Perhaps you need to get a 2 map chest drop, one of which will be a random map and the other a Machu Pichu only map.

I got that this morning, and the random map was Machu Pichu. I'll try again tonight for a double drop.
