G$ may destroy the game but we should not allow them to destroy our community along with it.
So far, I heard these games mentioned as possible alternatives: Megapolis, Sim City Build it, Flight Tycoon, and Air Tycoon 2.
Does anybody know of others we should look into?

I'd suggest that anyone who thinks of leaving should just stop playing but not delete the game right away.
If G$ comes back to senses and realizes what the management did there, it might be good to come back.
Given past experiences that I found all over the forum, I doubt it though.

I am not sure what was the reason for their leaving.

I also read some threads here about "Destroying the game", "Limitation100", etc...
Some things are real, yes. One of them is Limitation 100 (aka L100) for new users. But, as it was written, it is limitation for new user, and not for old ones.
New user will not stockpiling items, he needs to do flights, he will collect collections and not stockpiling them.

But yes, it is hard and very anoying if any of old users is hitted by L100. If you have 5000+ Blankets, and have 6 Factories with production 4 of each every time, cannot do clicks anymore. Same is with many other buildings..... Yes, it is hard.

But, old users should not be hitted by L100. Unless they are reinstall the game. So, not sure what happened to mentioned users or what is their reason. They need to write down, then we can understand their reason.
Meanwhile, any old user can still open a ticket and explain, what happened and why he needs to do reinstall. I thing GI will consider each of the ticket, could solve it in benefit of users or help on any other way.
True, we will buy new phones, tablets, etc.... And we will be in need to do reinstall. How this will work in future, GI knows.
Why they decided to do L100, GI knows.

I hope community can survive that. In past, after one update, we had limitation of increasing population in city, and suddenly most of us had 70% too much population in the city. Grand Hotel and expanding solved this problem. Probably same could be with L100. Very hard and anoying, but that could be changed with strategy too, I hope. Of course, I can be wrong.

GI has his own reasons for that. Darekk, Sasha, Josh and others can write down, why they are leaving. As community, we can find solution for many "in-game problems". I hope also for L100...

I see two problems there:
For one, it is simply unfair towards new users to give them a restriction that old users will only have in the future.

The second problme is:
I doubt that G$ has the manpower to really check every single old user's account after buying a new device and moving the account from one to the other so sooner or later, we will all be affected, I'm pretty sure of that. It is a G$-imposed problem that they created out of the blue just to earn more money short term and it will keep frustrating players, new ones and old ones alike since new players will reach the point where they would want to store more than 100 items like we all do and old players will be frustrated with every move of their game to another device or restoring it after a crash and always having to wait longer for the lifting of the 100 item ban since the support tickets for those will rise much quicker than G$ can handle them.
Even if you are affected by it only for a day or a couple of days, you will still always lose at least the production you could have harvested on those days and I doubt that G$ will add what you might have gotten automatically to your account again.

Foreseeing all these issues is what lead those who left already to their decision and what makes many others think of quitting as well, at least that is what they posted all over the forum.

I'm not that long on the forum yet but I like the community and the spirit of helping each other as best we can and I would hate to see it destroyed just because the game the forum was built around dies. So let's find a substitute for it and move on and leave the management of G$ wondering where their greed lead them to.

It's just naive to think this limit will not apply to everyone sooner rather then later. Why would they need to limit new players? The people who can't stockpile items... Come on...
the people they want to limit are the old players with huge warehouses and they have take the first step.

With the constant crashes of this game most people will have to do a restore sometime and restores using any known system beside maybe rooted restore on Android has been confirmed to apply the limit.
The replies we have had so far is they will "try" to remove the limit of old accounts if you contact support. What is there to try? Either there is a limit or there isn't.

Don't kid yourselves the limit will apply to everyone they just make a show of understanding and offer the older complaining users a temporary removal to make us stop complaining.

For myself I just can't motivate myself to spend the time needed on this game just waiting for this to happen so I'm cutting my losses and use that time a game that don't treat their customers like this.

Is the 100 limit affect also on fuel?

Agree with everything Fencat says here. It's G$ way of weeding out the veterans. We are their loyal players but as I said before, that is not their money making income. We have the QL parties, the advice for new players, the Alliances, the Adventure buildings. We also have the casino, bank, and mints they offered. We take the most resources and spend the least.

I played another game of G$'s before this one - same philosophy. I finally quit and swore never another G$ game but then my son got me hooked on this one. I've seen them do this on at least 3 occasions with this game.

1000 flights to 3 star a destination that you will only see occasionally? 400+ flights to reach 1 alliance goal with only 100 flight items in store? They are taking away the challenge and making it impossible. They have taken all the fun out. Now it's just click, click, click...

Still undecided but I'm thinking they may get me with this one. If so, I won't be looking for another stupid game. Maybe I'll try to catch up with Nox, hack the code, exploit the cheats... nah... no fun in that. Maybe watch a movie or get interested in a TV or Netflix series..., or become a Youtuber and make millions.

Judging from my "mess-around" android game, it's on barrels of fuel - ie., 100 fuel(3), 100 fuel(20), and so forth. When that game levels up, it can't accept the fuel because I already have 100 barrels of fuel(50)

If Noxx was doing this, He wouldn't have survived this long, Cheaters who edit game files do not survive Long, Sooner or later server's catch them and ban them.
I am sorry but I can't say how he does thousands of Flights, I too wonder the same though
