Do lots of launches to North Observatory and Plesetsk. The item drop rate is seldom for those destinations. Using sky captain, dice, golden dice or spyglass will improve the drops as well.
For neighbor visits, tap on cosmic fuel stations, training centers, astronaut academys, planeteriums, all color pads and MCC. In my experience, I feel like I get more drops when visiting all cosmic fuel stations, but theres no proven facts there, just my select experience.
