With the problem with the broken ad service stretching into its second week, I fear that GI may be abandoning Airport City. The game generates most of its revenue from ad sales. No ad sales means no revenue. This is not a difficult technical issue to correct (I speak from deep industry experience). For the company to let this problem linger for so long is a great worry for me. I like playing the game, but in its current condition it is unplayable. The fan base will quickly move to a competitor's product and this lovely game and its community of fans will wither.

I hope that I'm wrong, but I have seen this movie before....

All my ads for free stuff are working fine, i have games on Windows, android and IOS and everyone has the free ads working
I am heartened to see that ads are playing on some platforms and some players! There are quite a few active threads, though, on this Forum discussing the ad serving problem so it does seem to be impacting a significant portion of their user base. In my case, I am running up-to-date Windows 10 on an HP laptop that used to run ads in Airport City. Now the ad service fails silently and prevents me from earning any benefit. That means that I can't build or upgrade unless a neighbor sends me everything I need or (heaven forbid) I spend greenies.

This game is not meant to be played in an isolated corner that's why you have neighbours.
Ask any of the neighbours on this forum for anything via pm or tag and you shall surely receive.

In currently upgrading a number of buildings in my city and one of them is the control tower which requires 20 of each item and no I'm not playing ads because they hang and causes me to shut down the phone so I posted a request and my good neighbours are gifting what I requested.

So I purchased 3 hotels just before the upgrade that killed the ads. I feel bad about pestering my neighbors for all of this, but I will give it a try. That's a lot to ask, though, isn't it?

Hotels in particular are a pain in the arse that catch out lower level players. At certain points, you can get the items to drop from flights, otherwise use ads or neighbour gifts.
Gifts from neighbours do not affect their inventory, if you don’t already know that. So don’t feel guilty asking. Just make sure you return a gift someone wants rather than spamming your neighbours with those items - that’s a pretty sure fire way to ensure you don’t get sent them again, as they will be worthless to most. If you aren’t already familiar with it, there is a sticky thread ( https://www.airportcitygame.com/thr...with-multi-language-descriptions.21637/unread ) which gives abbreviations people use in their in game name for gift requests.

This is exactly how to do this! I can personally send bath towels. I do humbly suggest you do the following:
1) Develop a signature for this forum (see the guide by Captain Rollins), and post what you need in it (see my example of begging for CT9 items in my signature).
2) Change your game name to "Something - Hotel". That way we know you are looking for hotel items, and can check your signature for what you still need.
3) Develop friends in the game who are good trading partners (i.e., who will send you what you want, while you send them what they want).

As an aside, relating to this discussion, I personally *like* the aspect of the game that is managing my resources to do well. My resources include having awesome neighbors who will help me out with gifts that I need :)
