I've been corresponding with GI tech support about the username problem. Marina's latest email reads "The thing is, that the issue had been recognized by our specialists and they resolved it in the new update."
THEY DO NOT THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM!
Everyone, please post a new ticket complaining about this problem. If enough of us do this then maybe they will see the extent of it.

Perhaps it's now coupled with the rotating giftable items. I've not had a chance to really look at it, but it *seems* like as you log in and get new gifts, the "username" comes and goes. Then again, I've watched people's names turn into username and vice versa.

Can someone get a vid capture of this for them?

So sorry Charles Prince I let myself be guided by the name and not your picture. At the moment I can see a picture of you (I suppose) glad I can exchange gifts with someone who I automatically know who it is . I notice that my level showing up is level 15 and I'm not sure why because I'm definitely on level 23...

No problem on the gender issue! My fault for the choice of name I used to have an explanation in my signature but Charles Prince is the name of a small airport I knew in Zimbabwe. It was a very small, rather like our start up airport so that seemed appropriate. As you say, nice to be able to recognise a few players. I like your plane, which is very different

I will be sending a ticket to GI on the names issue, and am going to try to take a screenshot as soon as names come visible next time plus one moments later when they disappear again. Hope that will be able to prove a point!

Hmmm. I can't see you yet Ianda11 but I have tried the same thing. My avatar in the game will have less ducks as Facebook cropped the photo, but should be recognisable. Maybe you can see me? I know ducks are not very airport related but if we all go for planes.......

It seems to me that since this latest challegne started many of my everyday gifting friends have disappeared ???
Trying to reconnect is almost impossible.

The problem with usernames has been going on for months now. I have been getting names back almost once a day. I wouldn't mind if I could have them for a period of time when it is useful. I have been receiving many wonderful gifts, but when the gifts come in, if I don't have names at that exact period of time, the gift shows coming from username. I'll send back a series of old lanterns, hoping I'm sending them to all of you, to find, hours later, that I've sent them to a name that I don't know. I've been trying to keep my gifts available until my names come back, but it isn't reliable enough. I'm still trying to do my best sending gifts to my neighbors on this forum first and foremost!

Here is the issue. Each neighbor can only invite another neighbor once. You can invite say, Pakman once, and he can invite you once. If you first invited him, and for whatever reason you lose him as your neighbor, he can invite you. Once you have gone through that process, you can't get him back as your neighbor. I have lost so many wonderful neighbors that way.

I plan on contacting GI once these usernames are fixed to ask specifically for a list of neighbors to be put back on my list. I figure if I ask too soon, I may lose them again.

I Fly - There has only been one, very brief , occasion whenI had a Neighbors List without any "Usernames". It lasted approx. 3 hours and occurred immediatley after the last Update (approx 1 week ago) Other than that I have never had a list without 6-10 Usernames. I have had many Neighbors disappear into Usernames and have been able to gift them - but it seems that I never get a gift returned. For example you and I were Neighbors for brief period - we exachanged gifts for several day and then your name disappeared. I was able to keep sending you gifts because I had noted your LVL and Avatar and could find you. So I continued to send you Spare Props - but never received another gift from you. Seems to me that this issue that GI cannot fix is causing many to leave the game. My gift list has diminshed to approx 6-10 per day and if it stays this way - I'm bailing !!!!!!!

My latest reply from GI is below. It seems like they are really clutching at straws and are trying to blame anything apart from their game!

Ianda11 and Vangees I can see you. I have to be patient as it takes a little longer for the avatars to load, but I can see your avatar so I know who you are. You are still usernames though. So if others try and do the same if possible, then maybe things will getbeasier. Here's hoping my ducks come into view soon for you.

I'm continuing with my support case and also update my review on the App Store after every new update. Surely they must recognise there are still bugs with their software?!?
