I realize Apple probably controls the ads, not the game developers. Seems like they almost don't want users to view them anymore. Ads are getting longer, and now it's taking 5 or 6 taps at the end (with about 5 seconds between X taps) to get out of them. Not sure how making the ad experience worse and worse increases clicks, but it seems to be the strategy now.

One occasion where Windows wins, and there are very few of those! Windows version used to have ads, but bcause of either license or revenue issues, they stopped around 8 years ago. Now we get a 5 second timer pause and hold screen instead - still delays play but not infuriating to watch.

Or because of the people that used to write in and complain "haven't you got any other ads?" after having one repeat infinitum. Some of them also used to get stuck, or breakdown half way through playing, or not get the gift item after you had watched the ad.

Welcome to a "free" world. 😂

(Sorry, i couldnt resist.)
I don't mind having ads in a game. I realize the developers have to earn revenue, and I know that drives the quality of the games available. I'm only complaining about the strategy Apple seems to be implementing now. They seem to believe the more of a pain in the @$$ they make the ads, the more likely players will watch them.

The ads I'm seeing currently have a timer bar at the bottom that moves very quickly at first, giving the impression that it will be a short ad. Then it begins to slow about half way across the screen, and then it moves at a snail's pace from about 3/4 across the screen to the end. Then when you click on the X, it brings up the app download window. Then, when you close that, it waits about 10 seconds and displays another X. When I tap on that, I get another download window, and after closing that, it's another 10 seconds to the final X to close the ad. Under the "normal" structure of 30-second ads with a 1 or 2 step close out at the end, I would often max out the daily ad opportunities. Now, I might do one or two per day, but I'm not watching that stupid king get killed for 45 minutes of every day.

Well? I know this won't make you any happier BW, but what you're describing is not just happening on the iOS platform. It's also happening on android, and I don't like it or the stupid king either. Just sayin'. It doesn't happen on Windows, but that platform seems to have it's own, very personal, issues. 🤷

Just a little bit of venting, a little bit of feedback to GI -- they obviously look at this site sometimes, as evidenced by their recent legal threats that temporarily removed much of the content here. I realize GI is a small fish in the enormous Apple ocean, and the venting doesn't really do much, but it's even less useful to send feedback to Apple.

P.S. -- now that Dragon Rising has started, is it safe to send flights to Wuhan these days?
