I may stop playing this game because of people cheating. I have seen images of profiles where have millions of fuel units. In the current event at the top they have 3 to 400,000 games points. A visit shows they do not many more advantages over in terms of land and buildings.
The amount flights they complete is enormous. I doubt that this is achieved by speeding up flights. Remember we only get a few free speed ups. Then we have to speed up with oil. Also remember that the flights can take many hours for bigger aircraft.
I have actually achieved 3rd place in one event. Since then, I have been nowhere near the top 5. In fact, in the current winter event I am 12th.
I am 25000 games units behind 5th place. The prize there is 5notes and 2 gold cases (2 x 150 fuel). I have no chance of catching up. Let me also say that I am retired so I am at home for long hours.
I still have no chance of getting in the top 5.
So far I have spent about £70 over the last few months on airport notes. I don't think that I will bothering again.
I have been playing for approaching 3 years. Land extensions I am up 105. When I started 1 square of land cost10notes when on offer. Now it is 30 notes when on offer.
This winter event is due end today. That will be it for me.
As one person put it, it's not a good idea telling anyone that they cheat. I don't think that will be joining them

Cheating in this game has been going on for many years and has only gotten more prevalent. Unless G! deals with it, it will keep going on.
The only solutions are (1) report cheaters to G! and see if they do anything. Sometimes they do. Or (2) stop caring about the cheaters. I know the ways they cheat and it seems so very boring. The rewards for cheating are just so small and can be achieved by just flying.
I play this game because I like it. Most of the game is not about "beating" anyone, but having fun and growing your own game with your alliance.
If you can't get past the cheating issues, then definitely quit because I do not see this being addressed any time soon.

I am very curious how you see how much fuel other players have. I can't find a way to see that, can you please tell me how to do?
