Hello All,

This is the story of how I got the Space needle, or so I thought ...
(I hope it can help you in planing and suceeding in gathering the necessary items to complete the colections and prepare well enough to avoid dissapointments. Don't hesitate to ask questions it i can share my experience and findings.)

After carefully reading the forum posts on Adventure flights and the reward buildings, I decided to go for it too. The fact that a Pyramid or a Coliseum is providing collection items was very appealing to me.

So I purchased maps from Duke and sent my planes to gather maps … I bought 10 of each excavation maps and spent 200.000 coins. After having used all these excavation maps, that 100 of them, I got 1 map to Carthage. I must say I was disappointed and realized I wouldn’t be getting any Pyramid or other special building soon.

Anyway, after a few red launches I got 3 or 4 maps for destination to complete The Outer Limits collection and be able to get the Space needle. That’s 5 collections to complete so 25 items to collect from these destinations.

I prepared the best I could, saving fuel and passengers for a while to increase what I already got from neighbors, ranking or rocket launches … But with no exact idea on how many flight I had to complete I was in the dark. I read the post by @Bali Hi who explained his strategy using as many planes possible and the fuel catalyst combine with a good timer to maximize the number of take offs per activated map. This is what I needed! (BTW, thanks for this post, and the thread with all the good advises). I was just lacking time, and the Golden Dice…

So I want to tell you how I did it:

I check my calendar for a free week end, where I could spend some time playing, especially follow a time table to use the fuel catalysts at a specific time. This was supposed to be next week end, but !

Last evening, wrapping up the last emails at work, I opened my game to collect coins and passengers, send a plane or 2, and buy the Golden Dice … which got activated right away !!! which wasn’t expected at all. I thought it would be available in the warehouse alongside some other bonuses I hade from completing collections, like the Spy glass or the Lucky cap.

What to do? Carry on with playing and go for it, or just forget about the 4 greenies and get a new Golden dice in the week end. I don’t like wasting thing so I played.

Instead of selling all my planes, I decided to speed up the one I had and maximize the use of the Golden dice and the maps.

First I activated the map for Sacramento, sent the Jet and instead of waiting to be able to use the Fuel Catalyst, as the Golden dice wouldn’t be active anymore anyway, I speeded up and completed the flight. As to my surprise, and totally to the opposite to the excavation maps I got 2 drops and decided to carry on and repeatedly sent and seeded up the flights. It took me 17 flights to get all 5 items but then decided to go for the 30 flights required to get an extra star.

Altogether, it took me the following to complete the collections:

Sacramento: 17 Flights, 2480 Passengers, 868 Fuel & 1736 to seed up; 2604 in total

Puerto Rico 44 Flights, 3520 Passengers, 1232 Fuel & 2464 to seed up; 3696 in total

Alexandria 45 Flights, 3600 Passengers, 1260 Fuel & 2520 to seed up; 3780 in total

Miami 16 Flights, 1280 Passengers, 416 Fuel & 832 to seed up; 1248 in total

Nagoya 34 Flights, 2720 Passengers, 884 Fuel & 1768 to seed up; 2652 in total

I also used 94 Spare Wire & 76 Additional Radar and needed to repair the planes quite a lot (more than usual without being able to quantify it): 10 Aircraft Tire, 5 Cockpit Glass, 5 Jet Engine, 2 Paint and 1 Passenger Seat

As an average, it took 32 Flights, 2720 Passengers and 2796 Fuel to complete a collection using the Golden Dice. In Total it's 13600 Passengers and 13980 Fuel for 170 Flights and their speed up.

As a summary, easiest was the Orphans of the Sky collection flying to Miami for which I got 1 item of each required. Creation Myths, The Little Ones and Space Garden were average difficult to complete.

The hardest was or I should say is the Across the Universe collection flying to Puerto Rico, for which after 44 launches I am still missing one item (Cygnus, even if I got 9 Ursa Major). This is the time where my phone decided to run out of battery :( So frustrating! I probably should have skipped getting the extra star to Sacramento and would have a few extra flights for Puerto Rico …

Next time I will use the flight catalyst technique to compare the outcomes :)

I made an excel file to track my progress in the collections; if anyone is interested I will try to upload it. Let me know.

Hi Eva

Saw your post.
You are Right.
It Takes a Lot of Fuel+ Passengers+ many bonuses I Use.

I remember mine. I collected A loads of Fuel and Passengers. + i activated Golden dice+ Family Ticket + Business class+ Secret faucet + 5/6 alarm clocks .

I thought I would complete all 5 destinations in a 3-4 hours.. But I got exhausted in 2.3 hours and all I got was 3 stars to Sacramento and Alexandria and some flights to Miami..

Next day I started again but this time I just few flights to each destination that was left to get items and that is how I got my Space needle.

I like the way it is described, very helpful for some players. I am usually saving fuel for 6 weeks (fuel 20 from gifts and fuel 50 from red launches). I do not care too much about passengers (if you check my city part you will understand), I use the family ticket every time and I usually hit one or two alarm clocks. I use this concept all the time for any collection or to secure 3 stars for the critical destinations. I never ever purchase from Duke for greenies as it is wiser to safe them for Golden dices every second day to collect from planetarium to get enough launch items and launch fuel.

Funny you should write this @Eva, because I myself just produced an Excavations Excel Sheet of what I have, and how much materials I can expect to use. I would be interested in the Excel sheet.

Hi Eva,
nice storytelling! After reading your post, I believe that on your platform the The Outer Limits collection still gives "space needle: always".
On Facebook they changed this to "space needle: collect 3 times" with one of the last updates.
Don't want to put you into panic mode, but I'm afraid that soon they might change this on other platforms, too. So, maybe it's better to go for the last item as soon as you can...

I did the same like Eva.
Fly and back.
Some notes for those who rush....
1. I dont use golden dice, because we will get all the maps by launches or Exvacations.
2. Yes, I do a warehouse stock, so I make sure I will able to repair my planes. Unless later for Giant or Falcon. We may need some Casino, Bank or mints to collect some greens and make sure we can repair instantly.
3. I dont make sure to get 3 stars for my baby games, which is not a baby anymore. I do 50-100 flights each map for small planes and 20-50 flights for big planes.

By doing those tips, you will get benefit :
1. No pressure of the drops and 3 stars
2. You can collect coins and golden tokens by using every map you get.
3. You dont need special time or free time because to find this momentum will always delay your adventure.
4. No need greenies and rush in what, 4-6 hours? You will get there anyway.

Disadvantage of course, need time to get collection.

I know the question in your mind, the answer, yes, every map I get, I always fly.
Maps will always be empty in my warehouse.

@simonheid , Good to know I am planing to complete the collection missing but I haven't enough fuel or passengers yet. I want to make sure I can nail 15 flights to make sure!
Thank for your useful tip and I will post if there is a change after the next game update.

@Robby Kusuma you are probably right and I guess I will apply this strategy for the next collection set to get the Luna Park (for wich you need to complete it 3 times).
I think it is a matter of setting the expectations right :)

After 7 more flights to Puerto Rico I finally got the last item to complete the collection and got the Space Needle :)
I am now starting excavation flights to Mesoamerica, taking it easy, one map at a time ;)
thanks for all your advices !

Remember that you need different planes for different maps so don't sell all your jets before finishing six space needles and all the jet pyramid flights. Two need turbojets iirc.. Progress through in order is my advice, there's an excel spreadsheet here somewhere.

Did you run Mesoamerica flights before the updates to catch up with ios/android? It used to be that you could ALWAYS get a Machu Pichu map every flight. For example, I think I have around 30 Machu Pichu maps and everything else, 2-5

I got my space needle "accidentally". I was chasing pyramid collections (with lots of fuel and 5 alarm clocks). When I got pyramid I tried to fly to Sacramento to see the drop rate - in first 5 flights not a single drop. Then I started chasing collection for second pyramid. At one point I got crazy drop rate (changing flights from one destination to another). Also I was doing it with only one propeller and one jet. When I got collection for second pyramid (my third one and on most of destination still not 3 stars) I decided to try to fly to sacramento to see how it goes. In next 3 flights I got whole collection. Then Started Nagoya and got all within 5 flights. Then I activated other 3 maps and flight changing destination each time I didn't get a drop from flight. When I run out of fuel It left me with only one item needed from Miami (was lucky enough to get it while sending plane before map expired). I used Golden dice and few other bonuses. That is what I'm calling good use of 1 golden Dice.
