Excavation: Mesoamerica. What for?

I'm trying to plan maps flights.

There is the excavation Mesoamerica, excavation Stonehenge, excavation ancient Egypt etc. flights which are on one hand based on a free map (via video ad) but on the other hand is not part of any reward.

So.. what is the benefit from those flights?

The Excavations: Mesoamerica flight drops Map Chest: Mesoamerica, which in turn produces a map to either Machu Picchu, Tollan, Quetzalcoatl Temple, Tenochtitlan, or Chichen Itza. Each of these destinations gives drops to complete the Aztec Legacy and obtain the Aztec Pyramid. The Aztec Pyramid gives +50 to max population and drops a random collectible item every 24 hours. Other benefits include skill stars and Large Bronze Chests that give gold tokens.

Looking through the flight menu, collection menu, and forum guides should have been able to answer your questions.
