General Does Speeding Up Flights Decrease Drop Item Potential

Most days - I launch 1 or more bonuses in order to increase my potential for gathering items on flights. To be specific, I can't seem to get water from Tehran.

Today I launched 4 flight drop bonuses along with my gold subscription. In 12 flights - no items drops. I did speed up the flights, as well as used weather vane.

I can't help but wonder if I'm being counter-productive by speeding up flights, be it through weather vane, jet pack, fuel additive, or my 6 / day speedups.

Any expert advice?

Drop bonuses really do increase drops from sped-up flights. For example, if you use every drop bonus available and speed up flights for an adventure map, you will get a drop almost every flight. The only drop bonus I do not use is Bowl of Riches -- This is not backed up by stats, but by my feeling that this bonus negates other bonuses, and others have posted this feeling as well.

My only advice is that if you really want drops, use more bonuses stacked together. Otherwise, just patience will get you there eventually

Speeding up flights should have no effect on drop rates, regardless of which bonuses are active. Their impact on flights is, in theory, mutually exclusive. I can't remember anyone ever providing advice or data to show otherwise.
Having said that, speeding up flights while bonuses are stacked is always a good idea, simply to maximise the benefits of the bonuses.

Thank you both for the excellent insight. That's comforting knowing I'm not impeding my own success. I'll continue grinding and back off using Bowl of Riches. All other flight destinations are producing plenty of goodies, so maybe it's just Tehran thats ultra- stingy!

It's G! trickery! There's usually one destination in each group that seems to be nastier than the rest and it's different for each player.

Not necessarily, a lot of the time it can be a case of “use it or lose it”. If you have a full cache of 300 items with barrels approaching zero time, you can add it to the bar total and forfeit collecting from the fuel station as well as the natural, minute by minute accumulation. NOT doing instant returns can just as easily cost you more fuel in some instances.

I don't think the bowl of riches stacks like the other bonuses. Try checking your bonuses just from the bowl of riches and no other bonuses running.

Bowl of riches specifically states quest items in the description. I am pretty sure this came up a long time ago that it doesn't work on everything and it's also the reason it was 'won' during events.

Also i think that 750% is maximum for drop rate based on my tests
