Android Can't install last update (Thanksgiving Quest), can't open the game.

I have tried to install the update but there was an error occurred "Package File Invalid" and "Error 927". I can't even start the game at old version...

What I have already tried:

- cleaned the cache and data of the Google Play Shop
- cleaned the cache of AC
- changed from WIFI to 4G

Nothing helps. Anyone with the same or similar problem?

I didn't get your error messages, but I had quite a bit of trouble loading the update on one of my games (the other, same type of android, briefly had a server error but then it loaded and there was Airport City in snow.)
For the problematic one, I stopped and started the device a couple of times, nothing. Started to install the download from GooglePlay, still nothing. I waited till the download finished, stopped then restarted the device. Now, I had a snowy airport, but no turkey quest icon in the upper left corner. Stopped and started the device again. This time, I had not only the turkey quest icon, it also showed the 3/3 pioneer collection requirement had already been fulfilled ( I now remember GI has trotted out this pioneer thing before, and it's nice to know that if you are unable to complete a quest, the parts that you have completed will likely count toward the reward next time the quest rolls around.)
I'd be interested to hear if and how your problem is resolved.

Well,
I have tried almost everything. Your tip with stop during the installation - I can stop the download process but if it starts to install (what should take few seconds) I don't have the possibility to stop it. I have closed the phone but no effects.
I have tried to download game from 3 different Internet sources - unsuccessful. Downgraded the Google Play Store to the very old version. Deleted the Cache and the App data from Airport City. Downloaded the update from Hideman VPN... etc.
As I have old Android version (but proper for AC according GI information) I can't even delete the Google account to try to re-add it.

Have no idea what to do.

Last step will be to uninstall and install the game and contact GI to provide a special code...

Lukasz You can try to :
  • Go to Settings >> Accounts >> Google >> Click on your gmail account >> Menu and Remove account.
  • Restart device and add your Google account back.
be carefull with clear data, it can make your game back to "0 level" if you have a bad luck.

btw your android device rooted or not?

Hi,
My Android isn't rooted.
I cannot delete the Account because on the old Android versions you can not do it with the first added account ;)

in the german forum a user write, that he found a solution for the Problem.

He moved the game from SD-memory to systemmemory.

I have tried this trick yesterday, but it didn't work. I have moved my game from sd-card to phone and it was unsuccessful, then back to sd-card also unsuccessful.

Today I have uninstalled my AC... with aim to install a new version and wait a week for restore code. I could not install the new AC (ver 3.02.01 - Thanksgiving) becouse of error message "Package File Invalid"... then I have found previous version 3.01.01 and I couldn't install it either. Finally I have found backuped file on my device from August 2013 :) and it is the only version in last 3 days which I can install and play the game :) from Level 1 of course :(

I don't know if I can upgrade this version to the actual one, or if the GI can provide me a restore code when I have a really old version.

I have now version from August 2013 and I have tried to upgrade it to the new one. Still "Package File Invalid" error message, and can not play the game, so I need to uninstall it, install the old one and wait for maybe new update. I have no idea what to think about it.

yes I have tried with, downloaded version from the link from drgrey, from the file which I have found in internet, and the file which I had found on my device in backupfolder on my CleanMaster app. - this version is from August 2013!

If you have another version I will be glad to receive them. See PM.

I have saved Airport city ver 2.18.02 (5 Aug 2014), 2.19.02 (23 Oct 2014) and 3.01.02 (8 nov 2014).
I am just about to upgrade to the new version.

Hello Bali Hi,

I have got all your games, thank you. I have started with the actual one (3.01.02) the same which I can download from Google Play Store and I had the same error.

Than I have tried ver. 2.19.02 and I could install it but I couldn't start the game - error message before first "GI white screen". It is very strange becouse I have normally played and finished this year Halloween quest without any problems....

Finally the game ver 2.18.02 is the only one which works, so I have achieved Level5 and sent the message to GI. I don't know if they provide me a code when I don't the the latest version and what about next updates in my case. I can only hope. Hope to get the working code, and hope that with the next update I can start with e.g. level 10 buildings.

I would be glad if anyone can inform me when/if there will be a mid-update in next few days (it happens few times in the past and we have searched the changes and didn't found).

I haven't played since Tuesday 25th Nov about 20:00 CEST (GMT+1) so since about 5 days.

I hope they release a new update soon. What is the counter of the Thanksgiving Quest now?

Btw: from version 2.18 I have updated to 2.19 ;) but still cannot update the latest one.

Btw2: for those who think about backuping on Android, I have a ClemaMaster app which is not a cleaner but have also AppManager with backup option. I have not rooted Android so Titanium won't work and for the Helium my system is to old...
