backing up app and game data to laptop?

ive got a glalaxy nexus running on ice cream sandwich and need back up my data etc

now ive heard about titanium but dont really want to root my phone, ive found this and seems ok, but wondered if anybody has used anything else

totally forgot about this, anybody care to share any thoughts

i have thought about rooting my phone, but if i do, would it mean loosing all my app/game data even if i backed it up 1st?

Did the backup part doday, will continue tomorrow. If it is sucessful, will let you know

thanks, any help be great, if it is that all game data is lost then i guess i wont do it, as got quite a few games that i dont want to lose the data for, for the time being

As far as I know the only was is to root your phone and use an app such as MyBackup.

As long as you follow the guides online, rooting is pretty easy and allows you to backup any app and its data.

when rooting though does it not wipe your phone 1st so ideally need to back up 1st as there is no sd card in the galaxy nexus

Ah, so it seems.

Ive rooted a Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 and Motorola defy and was done within 30 seconds and was pretty painless.

Just googled rooting a galaxy nexus and its seems it wipes your internal SD card in the process.

yeah what i thought so guess ill be leaving it as it is, read up about it and for someone thats has never done a root before its quite a long ish process lol
