I m an a &p certified aircraft mechanic, the planes I mentioned are flown to multiple air shows . when that occurs a full support team travels to ,on those planes, its a fantastic way to go to an airshow, I've met one of the last surviving Tuskegee Air men had lunch with him 3 years in a row General Charles Mc gee , 409 combat missions and others sadly he's gone now.
Would be such an honor to fly in any WWII era aircraft. Closest I have come is taking a flight in an F4 Phantom and an F14 Tomcat (talk about a brain melting experience) LOL
We fly out of KSET north of Lambert airport. (Kstl) , I cannot overstate the feeling that comes over me sitting in the greenhouse, with the .50 cal mg and an actual Norden bomb sight , I try to imagine what our boys sitting in the same place felt.... I fail , because no ones shooting at me. Mark_1966 you had the privilege of an F4 And the Tom cat wow , I worked on every model of the F-18 for 30 years never got a ride in one. Did get to ride in a B52 and a KC-135 on refuel missions
During World War II, from the beginning to the end of the war, there were too many dazzling planes, whether they were fighter jets, bomber planes, or transport planes
