Attention, pilots on iPhone/iPad!

If you played on iPad and installed new app and then started a profile transfer that has gone wrong and didn't finish - please DO NOT delete the new app. This will simplify the process of fixing things for us. Hopefully everyone who got level 1 after transfer will get their profile back just in a few more hours.
Not only the situation is not improving (still I'm offered to restore the wrong game in 5.3, 5.2.25 does not show the Easter event) but from this morning Tech guy Alex blocked access to the 5.2.25 version). Do you plan some recovery soon - I'm loosing greenies as I can't collect them from my casinos and mint?

And on top of that my old app isn't working anymore, I can't get rid of the Alex pop-up saying I should switch to the new app... :dead:

I already thought you had issues. Because you are in my friend list and I saw your progress being reset to level 1 with a default airport when visited. :(
I hope for you it's not permanent.

Similar situation here... Alex is not being friendly. He bumps me to the right update. However, it doesn't offer me the option of downloading my game from the server. So, new version is an empty shell of a game. Also going to begin losing greens from casino in a few hours.

Tom, please don't follow the mistake of many other players by deleting the new app, this will NOT hasten the process. On the contrary, every time you install the app, delete it and install again, you (anyone) generate a new profile and complicate things even more. File a ticket for support, and we'll get to you whichever comes first - automatically of manually.

Oh, as a true AC Junkie, I am not only NOT deleting the new app, I am playing it. I'm now at Level 6 and starting flights to Egypt. (Seems like old times.)

In settings - privacy -advertising - limit app tracking
turn limit ad tracking off, and then tap “reset identifier”
then open and close old app with grey icon, then - open new one and the profile restoration window will appear
I am not sure if it works 100% or not but you can try

Taking a break at work to come on and post the same thing.... only to find you beat me by a few hours.... :)

With the same instructions from G! I'm back up and running with only an hour of casino time lost. :)

Ivan, I have sent a ticket from the first day of the update and was told that there would be a fix shortly. My problem, like Pakman, is that the update allows me to convert to the updated version of AC, but it is prompting me to convert an old game that has been terminated for approximately a month!! The GI servers want me to select a deleted game and will not give me the option to select my current iPad game.

You did warn us that this update would cause problems if we had two versions of AC on one iPad, which I did, the HD & non HD versions. However, per your advice, I did terminate the support game and my main game is the only one associated with the game center ID and the only one on my iPad. I don't understand how your servers are still showing the terminated game instead of the current game. Also, in reading the forums today, Pakman was able to get his main game on the update, but mine still is showing the terminated version. VERY, VERY frustrated!!!

Fortunately, I can and am still playing the nonupdated, grayed out version. I do have the new updated version also, prompting me to load the old, terminated game, which I haven't done. I simply close out of the new version without choosing. So I should not delete this incorrect, new version??? How will there be a fix on the new version when it won't give me the correct game to migrate?

Worked for me too AJ...GI should hire you for their Support team! My iPad game is back...and new...and alliance, Easter quest, neighbors...all good :)

I'd like to turn "limit ad tracking" back to "on", but wonder if that will cause future problems...no app should be designed so it requires something like "limit ad tracking" to be turned off...imho.

So - people on iPad - what's the correct way to update in the opinions of those who have been successful.

Go through Apple Store and update to the 5.2.25 grey icon game - or go through the update screen that pops up in the game itself

Be prepared for problems either way and just hope for the best. :p
I think *most* of the upgrade problems have been worked out or have work arounds now. So, you *should* be ok regardless of which method you pick.

duct tape and bailing wire... it's how things are held together it seems...

I updated day one from the app and had no problem besides not being able to connect to the server. Once it connected I was running in a couple minutes
