An idea - thoughts?

It's a pain to go through a batch of threads and searching to find who wants what. But I do it because I want to send people what they need.

But I'm all about working smart, not hard and finding solutions to make things easier.

It would be helpful if there was a sticky topic that every posted in just once. Because everybody signature is updated automatically, there is one thread to go to that will contain everybody's wish list.

Thoughts?

Chloe11111 Under the Ipad thread there is a sub-thread for Signatures - check it out. A lot of the Ipad players have started posting there Signatures! Bill

If you are searching for a particular member go to the members section, search for their name, under the Information tab their signature appears.
I do this rather than trawl through the trading thread as the majority of my neighbours, including myself are not active on those threads.

I just type the name in the search. .. top right side. More easy

Same here. I follow my neighbours, then just open tabs, and have Excel ready to fill out what I'm gonna send and to whom.

Here's what I do:
Have an Excel file. First column would be the username here with "@" in front of them so when I copy paste here, they will be automatically tagged. I put the items that I will send in the second column. I list the names and rotate the recipients alphabetically. So for example if I have 40 neighbours, I will send 1-20 for day1, then 21-40 for day2. Then repeat.

So when I have the time, I'll go to the forum and open the tabs for the people I follow then look up the signature and fill out my Excel file. Then copy the 1st and 2nd column to a notepad, and copy the notepad content to the forum.

Done.

This is a good idea. That's why it is important that the signatures are always up to date so as not to waste a gift by sending an item that is already complete. For example: controllers.

I know how to search and follow neighbours. This is how I manage gifting now but it can be a chore to search for 20 people every day (search for the person, go to their profile, switch to the page that shows their postings, go to one of their posts, look up requirements in the signature).

On the other hand, if everybody posts a single time in a single thread, you simply need to open the thread and scroll through it - no searching necessary. Because most regulars update their signature daily, the thread doesn't need to be updated - it will simply show the latest needs of each user who posted in the thread.

billsnj, thanks for the tip on the thread in the ipad trading area. This saved me a batch of time today.

But now we can gift across platform so I went to find a similar thread in the android and iphone area and there was none. So again, I'm looking up everybody (except those posted in the ipad signature thread) every day to see what they need. It takes time away from collecting passengers and sending flights.

I only look at my pms and on the daily gifting thread for the day.

Gifting would be so much easier if the usernames are arranged alphabetically. Is it such a hard thing, GI? It would cut my gifting time in half. For now. I have to blindly scroll and scroll looking for usernames because the way they are arranged do not seem to follow any system.
