@TeresaLisboa Tranquil Abode looks like the Alcobaca Monastery in Portugal, but not quite... Any ideas for something similar? Maybe the designers were just being a bit lazy with the details though (@Chloe11111 too!)
This is very close. I would be willing to call this a match if @TeresaLisboa agrees. I also like that it's a monastery rather than a church - fits better with the "abode" part@TeresaLisboa Tranquil Abode looks like the Alcobaca Monastery in Portugal, but not quite... There is almost nothing from Central America or South America yet. Even collections that come from those destinations yield Euro-centric buildings. But the benefit is that now I really want to visit Iguazu Falls! 😄I was hoping/expecting to find some of the buildings in Cuba. But nothing.
I fully agree. That was one of the reasons why I though "maybe". But if they can take the top of the Singer Building and put it on another building, then maybe not so concerned with the strength of vertical versus horizontal lines. Eh... maybe some of these close matches are true, or maybe they just get us to the real one in the end... Still fun!I’ve been scrolling thru several Portuguese churches and monasteries, none satisfies me completely.
about this one,
The strong vertical lines present in the abode aren’t there... instead, the horizontal lines are stronger..
The Alcobaça arch is gothic, rather than romanic (but again, the arch in the tranquil abode could be gothic also)
I think it is a real possibility.
however, the general aspect of the façade of the tranquil abode reminds strongly this one
perhaps should be classified as a “strong maybe”
@Jenn B isn't there some similarities between the roof line here and in the Miracle Mill? Boston also maybe? Looks like it could be an old fire stationHouse of Miracles = Trinity Church in Boston, Massachusetts, USA

Hmmm. The clock tower and spires on the sides are very Euro-influenced. And the rest is very American throw-bricks-in-it. Could be NE US.@Jenn B isn't there some similarities between the roof line here and in the Miracle Mill? Boston also maybe? Looks like it could be an old fire station

I like it - even the roof line (from above) is very similarOK, so if the designers were a bit drunk (and I never assume they are completely sober... 😄), then maybe Grand Place in Brussels looks like the Tax Service?? Might be a starting place.

Much better!!!
Baroque? I would start with French buildings. Also, can someone give me a clue for the architectural style of this one? More detail when you get the image from AC

That one is a great match @Chloe11111
This building “feels” so wrong to me. that tower doesn’t match with the rest. The surrounding building should be much biggerAlso, can someone give me a clue for the architectural style of this one? More detail when you get the image from AC

I agree, but if I could even get a close match on the tower with the building representative of the whole, it would be better than nothing I think. This building “feels” so wrong to me. that tower doesn’t match with the rest. The surrounding building should be much bigger
